Pat Sajak Hints He Might Retire Soon as ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Host
Pat Sajak is opening up about just how long he has left as Wheel of Fortune’s host.
The 75-year-old host, who’s been at the helm of the game show since 1981, opened up in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight about when he’ll retire, or how long the show will last beyond that.

“In most television shows by this time, you would have said, ‘That’s probably enough,’ but this show will not die,” Pat said in reference to the game show, that debuted in 1975.
He added that he “may go before the show.”
“Years go by fast. We’re getting near the end. It’s been a long [time]. We’re not gonna do this for another 40 years. The end is near,” Pat shared. “… It’s an honor to have been in people’s living rooms for that long. People were out there welcoming us. We’re happy and proud.”
Pat and co-host Vanna White are gearing up for season three of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, which will debut on Sunday, September 25.
