Netflix’s Resident Evil Trailer Brings A Fresh Zombie Outbreak
The Umbrella Corporation will be unleashing the T-virus once again, this time on Netflix. Watch the trailer at Empire.

The thing with zombies is, you can’t keep them down. Save for a shot to the head, they always come back – and since the Resident Evil games remain ultra-popular, adaptations are continuing to stagger their way to our screens. Next up is a series from Netflix – one that’s unrelated to last year’s cinematic reboot Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City, instead presenting a clean slate on the zombie-virus tale. Presumably, that clean slate will soon be splattered by the red stuff. Take a look at the trailer for Netflix’s Resident Evil series here:

This take on Resident Evil casts The Wire legend Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker, an employee at the Umbrella Corporation – with Tamara Smart and Siena Agudong as his adoptive daughters Billie and Jade, respectively. And as the trailer shows, the series will depict two timelines: one in 2022, as the outbreak begins in New Raccoon City, and one in London in 2036, where the world has been ravaged by the outbreak of the T-virus. There are snarling infected hordes, horrifying creatures, undead dogs, and eerily sterile corporate headquarters – in short, it’s Resident Evil.

The series comes to Netflix from 14 July – we’ll soon find out how it fares in comparison to the Paul WS Anderson films and Welcome To Raccoon City.
