Jillian Michaels Marries DeShanna Marie Minuto… In Africa!
Fitness trainer Jillian Michaels married DeShanna Marie Minuto in a private ceremony.
On Friday, July 22, “The Biggest Loser” star posted on Instagram from Namibia, Africa, where she revealed that she tied the knot with her fiancée after they had become engaged last November.
Michaels had been previously engaged to Heidi Rhoades before they went their separate ways in 2018.

On Friday, the “Body Revolution” trainer, 48, posted several photographs from their wedding in Namibia, Africa. She began her lengthy caption, writing, “‘Just married’ @deshannamarie Michaels – it’s an honor and an adventure saying I do to you.”
“Finding you… my person… and eloping in Africa together has been one of the most magical and transformative chapters of my life,” she continued.
Michaels wrote “a special thank you to Susan Neva at @alluringafrica , the team at @wearewilderness and the Himba people for helping us commemorate our union in style. We will treasure these experiences for the rest of our lives.”
She revealed the happy couple are now “on to Venice 2023 for a celebration with family and friends.”
Plenty of famous friends took the time to congratulate the happy couple.

Jillian Michaels Praises Her Wife As ‘Beautiful, Smart, Funny, Creative, Quirky, Passionate…’
Michaels had nothing but positive things to say about her new fiancée when she spoke to PEOPLE magazine last year.
“DeShanna is ‘all the things’ — beautiful, smart, funny, creative, quirky, passionate … I could run down the list of adjectives,” she began. “Those characteristics obviously attract you to someone. But it’s the quality of their character that makes you think ‘Thank God for this person laying next to me’ every night when you fall asleep.”
She continued, “It’s easy to stay together when everything is going great, but when real life sets in and things get messy, challenging, scary, and even downright ugly — that’s when the truth reveals itself. And this woman has revealed herself to be strong beyond measure, wise beyond her years, and loving beyond my wildest dreams. I am so grateful to officially call her mine.”
In an earlier interview with PEOPLE, Michaels revealed that she works her girlfriend just as hard as she does any one of the contestants on “The Biggest Loser” when they train together. Even though Minuto was a college athlete, some of Michaels’ workouts proved to be a bit tough, even for her!
“What’s interesting about DeShanna is she was like, a D1 athlete — some crazy great athlete … and is very fit, very lean, and was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to start working out,'” Michaels revealed. “And so I was like, ‘Alright babe.’ ”
She added, “I gave her a little routine and she was like, ‘I can’t walk, I’ve been zombified, I hate you,’ and then, over a couple of weeks … she’s like, I just ran my mile in seven minutes and 15 seconds.”
Jillian Michaels has created many workout programs over the past few decades. In 1997, she released the popular “30 Day Shred,” which has almost 10,000 positive reviews on Amazon. She has released even more in recent years, including 2009’s “Banish Fat Boost Metabolism,” 2010’s “6 Week Six-Pack,” 2011’s “Ripped In 30,” and 2018’s “Lift and Shred.”
The Couple Became Engaged In November 2021
On Sunday, November 28, 2021, Michaels shared the news of her proposal with a sweet snap on her Instagram page. The photo shows Michaels snuggled up with her fiancée, DeShanna Marie Minuto, who is wearing an emerald-cut diamond ring on her finger.
“1153 days….” Michaels captioned the snap. “Here’s to thousands more. She said ‘yes.’”
The two have been dating since 2018 and recently celebrated their three-year anniversary on October 7 with another Instagram snap.
“We are all asleep until we fall in love,” Michaels wrote. “Happy Anniversary @deshannamarie. I adore you.”
Many fans are wishing nothing but the best for the happy couple and can’t wait to see more photos from their honeymoon!
