Chris Pratt Wishes Arnold Schwarzenegger Happy Birthday In New Image

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 star Chris Pratt wishes Arnold Schwarzenegger a happy birthday in new image. Schwarzenegger is Pratt’s father-in-law, as Pratt is married to his daughter, Katherine. Pratt and Katherine share two daughters. Arnold is the legendary action star of blockbusters like Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Predator, Conan The Barbarian, True Lies, Total Recall, and many, many more. The Austrian-born star is also a former seven-time-winner of Mr. Olympia and a former Governor of California from 2003-2011.

Pratt is the former star of the hit sitcom Parks and Recreation. He famously worked his way up from comedic actor to superhero when he appeared in director James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014 as the Marvel hero Star-Lord. Since then, Pratt has seen his career explode, appearing as Star-Lord in multiple MCU films (with at least two more on the way), and branching out into other franchises, including Jurassic World. The actor has since started to follow in Schwarzenegger’s path by taking on more action-heavy roles, such as The Tomorrow War and, most recently, as James Reece in Prime Video’s series adaptation of Jack Carr’s The Terminal List.

Pratt celebrated Schwarzenegger’s 75th birthday in a new post with an image of himself sharing a cigar with his Terminator father-in-law. Both Pratt and Schwarzenegger have been seen in photographs before, but it’s the first time Pratt has shared an image with his father-in-law on social media, highlighting their familial relationship. Pratt says in the post simply, “Happy birthday to the man, the myth, and the legend. Love you @schwarzenegger!” Check out Pratt’s post below:

Schwarzenegger has remained busy since coming back to Hollywood after his run as Governor. For example, he returned to play the T-800 in Terminator: Genisys and Terminator: Dark Fate, both of which were mostly ill-received by critics and fans. The actor is set to make his latest venture into TV with the Netflix spy show UTAP, co-starring with Top Gun: Maverick star Monica Barbaro. Schwarzenegger is also expected to reprise his Twins role with Danny DeVito in Triplets, although that project has been stalled due to the death of director Ivan Reitman earlier this year.

Seeing Pratt and Schwarzenegger together in a photo as family is a cool, yet surreal thing. Andy Dwyer from Parks and Recreation becoming a Hollywood superhero, as well as the son-in-law of one of the biggest action stars of all time, is a wild turn of events by any measure. It’s even more interesting as Pratt continues the upward trend of embracing the action hero persona, which was the bread-and-butter of Schwarzenegger throughout the height of his Hollywood career. Surely, Schwarzenegger will have a seat at the theater when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits theaters next year, as Pratt takes the torch from his father-in-law.
