Obi-Wan Kenobi Characters’ Lightsabers Revealed In New Posters
The Obi-Wan Kenobi series will feature a variety of lightsabers and new posters showcase Kenobi’s, Vader’s, the Grand Inquisitor’s, and more.

With the premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi just weeks away, official posters highlighting some of the lightsabers in the show have been released. Obi-Wan Kenobi will bring Ewan McGregor back to the Star Wars franchise as the titular Jedi Master whose last live-action appearance was back in 2005’s Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge Of The Sith. Obi-Wan Kenobi will pick up ten years after Episode III, taking place at the height of the Empire’s power while Kenobi watches over a young Luke Skywalker on Tatooine.

McGregor won’t be the only familiar face in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Hayden Christensen will also be returning to play Darth Vader following his last live-action appearance as the Sith Lord in Episode III. Kenobi and Vader will cross lightsabers again during the events of the series, but they will not be the only lightsaber-wielders in the fray. Darth Vader’s specialized Jedi hunters, the Imperial Inquisitors, will be making their first live-action appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Rupert Friend will play the leader of the Inquisitors, the Grand Inquisitor, and will be joined by other newcomers to the franchise, such as Sung Kang as the Fifth Brother and Moses Ingram as the Third Sister – or as promotional material refers to her, Reva.

With marketing for the series beginning to ramp up ahead of its release, the Obi-Wan Kenobi official Twitter account posted five posters showing off some of the lightsabers that will be featured in the show. Among the sabers are Kenobi’s and Vader’s iconic weapons from the Original Trilogy, as well as three of the double-bladed red lightsabers that the Inquisitors use. Check out the posters below.

Aside from a bit of wear and tear on Kenobi’s, his and Vader’s sabers look similar to how they did when last seen in the franchise. The Inquisitors’ lightsabers, however, are making their first live-action appearances in the series. The animated Star Wars Rebels introduced the Inquisitors and their signature spinning lightsabers, so seeing how the spinning effect translates to live-action should be interesting.

There is little doubt that the ultimate clash in Obi-Wan Kenobi will be between Kenobi and Vader. But, in order to catch Vader’s attention, Obi-Wan will first find himself face-to-face with some of the Inquisitors. Rebels confirms that the Grand Inquisitor and the Fifth Brother will both survive Obi-Wan Kenobi as they are antagonists in that show, but the Third Sister, Reva, is making her first appearance in the franchise. The trailer for the series suggests that Reva has some kind of connection to Kenobi as she calls him by name. While details surrounding Ingram’s Inquisitor are still mostly under wraps, she is set to be an interesting villain and will brandish her red lightsaber for the first time when Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on May 27.
