With this year bringing in her second straight nomination, the bisexual comedian recently appeared in the all-winners edition of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 7 and has been doing a stand-up tour all summer.
Hacks did big numbers in the other categories it qualified for, garnering 17 nominations, including Best Comedy Series.
Kate McKinnon — Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy

She has two wins under her belt, from 2016 and 2017, and has booked a role in the highly anticipated Barbie movie, coming next year.
RuPaul Charles — Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program

The host of the drag queen competition juggernaut has let the world know that Drag Race is a force to be reckoned with, as it once again dominates the reality show categories.
The show earned 11 nominations, including its sixth consecutive Outstanding Competition Program nomination and RuPaul for Best Reality Host, which he’s won the last five times.
Queer Eye — Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program
NBC / NBCU Photo Bank via Getty ImagesBobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, and Jonathan Van Ness were once again nominated for their work on Netflix’s 2018 Queer Eye reboot.
The Netflix queer icons and the show have been nominated in various categories since the show first aired, and have inspired reboots around the world.
Queer Eye is filming its seventh season later this year.
Sarah Paulson — Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie

Paulson teaming with Ryan Murphy once again did them both good, earning her an eighth Emmy nomination for her work in Impeachment: American Crime Story as Linda Tripp in the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
Her work in the previous The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, as Marcia Clark, gave her her first Emmy, so let’s see if she gets a second win.
Murray Bartlett — Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie
Steve Granitz / Getty ImagesMurray Bartlett, the man behind the most talked about ass-eating scene on television this year, is getting rewarded with an Emmy nomination.
While the former Looking star has long been a fan favorite, his first nomination has come for his role as the stressed-out manager in The White Lotus. The show dominated this year’s nominations, with 20 nominations in total.
Bisexual director Mike White and queer icon Jennifer Coolidge were among those also nominated for the show about the horrors of white people at a resort.
Colman Domingo — Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series
Corey Nickols / Getty Images for IMDbEuphoria standout Colman Domingo may get the chance to add an Emmy next to his Tony Award if things go his way later this year.
The Zola and Fear the Walking Dead actor joins Zendaya, Martha Kelly, and Sydney Sweeney with nominations for his work on the second season of Euphoria, which was also nominated for Best Drama Series.
He will star in a new adaptation of The Color Purple and be the lead in a Bayard Rustin biopic in 2023.
Nathan Lane — Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series
Kevin Mazur / Getty Images for Tony Awards ProductionsBroadway legend and six-time Tony winner Nathan Lane earned his seventh nomination as a guest actor for his work in Only Murders in the Building as Teddy Dimas, making him the most nominated Guest Actor nominee (in a comedy or drama series) in Emmy history.
With roles ranging from Roy Cohn in Angels in America to Timon in The Lion King, Lane is an undeniable great who has been in pretty much everything.
His work across almost four decades has made him one of the best working actors in television, stage, and film.
Nicole Byer — Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program
Rich Fury / Getty ImagesThe Nailed It! host has earned her second nomination for Best Host while also earning an Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special nomination for her first full-length special, Nicole Byer: BBW (Big Beautiful Weirdo).
The comedian also stars in the NBC comedy Grand Crew and hosts the reboot of Wipeout with John Cena.
The Why Won’t You Date Me? podcast host has been one of the best comics of the last decade, as also evidenced by her appearances on Girl Code and RuPaul’s Drag Race (make her a permanent judge already!), among so many more!
Lady Gaga — Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded)

Although the four-time Emmy nominee has a Golden Globe under her belt for her acting, her Emmy noms have mostly come from her music specials, including two with Tony Bennett.
Her Grammy-winning collaborations with Bennett inspired recordings of their live specials, which feature an array of classics performed by the duo. Bennett was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s last year, making these recordings some of his last performances.
Jane Lynch — Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series
Craig Blankenhorn / HuluFive-time Emmy winner Jane Lynch has earned her 13th nomination for her work in Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building in a guest-starring role.
Queer directors Jamie Babbit and Cherien Dabis earned nominations for their work on the show, which is also nominated for Best Comedy Series.

Comedies like A Black Lady Sketch Show, Abbott Elementary, and What We Do in the Shadows garnered major nominations while featuring many queer themes and characters.
Drama hits like Severance, Stranger Things, Yellowjackets, Killing Eve, Inventing Anna, and Pam & Tommy also saw some major success in the Primetime categories.
