Chris Evans reunites with Knives Out star Ana de Armas in a behind-the-scenes image from their new movie Ghosted as it wraps filming. Plot details are being kept under wraps for the film but it is being described as a romantic action comedy in the same vein as Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner’s Romancing the Stone. Evans and de Armas are leading the ensemble cast of Ghosted that also includes Adrien Brody, Mike Moh, Amy Sedaris, Tim Blake Nelson, Tate Donovan and Mustafa Shakir.

Development on Ghosted was first announced in mid-2021 when Evans and fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe star Scarlett Johansson entered talks to join the film with Rocketman‘s Dexter Fletcher directing on a script from Zombieland duo Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. The film saw a slight change when Johansson was replaced by de Armas in December after the former had to depart the project due to a scheduling conflict. Filming on Ghosted officially kicked off in February 2022 and now one star has exciting news regarding the project.

Nearly three months after filming began on the project, Chris Evans took to Instagram to announce that filming has wrapped on his new movie Ghosted. Evans paired the announcement with a photo of he, Ana de Armas and director David Fletcher having a laugh in a car situated in front of a blue screen. Check out the fun BTS image below:

Anticipation has been high for Ghosted since the initial announcement that Evans and Johansson would reunite after two decades of working together on everything from teen heist film The Perfect Score to their long MCU tenures. Though there was some initial disappointment at Johansson’s departure, interest in the film has remained high with de Armas’ casting after she and Evans delivered acclaimed performances in Rian Johnson’s murder mystery comedy Knives Out. Additionally, with the film being penned by Deadpool duo Reese and Wernick, audiences have been confident that the film would turn out to be another fun adventure, which Evans’ BTS image certainly points to.

With filming now concluded on Ghosted, one can hope further plot details for the movie are revealed in the near future. That being said, the tease of a Romancing the Stone-style adventure does prove an enticing prospect for the time being, especially with the adventure romantic comedy genre seeing a strong resurgence in recent years with Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt’s Jungle Cruise and Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum’s The Lost City. Only time will tell what’s to come from Evans and de Armas’ reunion as post-production gets underway on Ghosted.
