From ‘Private Jets’ To ‘Sprinkler Systems’ Celebrities Accused Of Killing The Earth

The environment is dying at the hands of some of the world’s biggest celebrities!

Having celebrity status in this day and age means entertainers can enjoy lavish lifestyles with certain privileges that allowed them to do as they pleased. However, being famous did not mean these individuals were above the law. A few high-net-worth individuals in Los Angeles were recently called out for their shocking involvement in environmental destruction.

Kevin Hart, Kim Kardashian, Dwyane Wade Among Violators Of Water Restrictions

As shared by Newsweek, nearly 97% of Los Angeles has been ravaged by “severe drought.” A problem that broke records for the wrong reasons. This year’s numbers earned a place in history as the fourth driest year California has experienced in the last 128 years. The first four months of 2022 were also the driest ever recorded.

Despite the severity of the situation, the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District revealed that about 2,000 customers violated their state-wide water restrictions. The organization noted that these rule breakers repeatedly exceeded 150% of their monthly water budgets. This crime has occurred at least four times since the district issued the new water limitations in 2021.

The California water cooperation implemented the regulations to combat the ongoing drought in the state. However, not everyone obeyed the rules. According to the news outlet, the Las Virgenes committee sent out “notices of exceedance” to transgressors in May and June. Among the 2000 recipients were some of the world’s most beloved celebrities.

The list included Hollywood veteran Sylvester Stallone, reality TV stars Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, comedian Kevin Hart, and former NBA star Dwyane Wade. The Kardashian sisters made headlines for their excessive water usage in June following Las Virgenes’ series of severe “stage 3” restrictions.

This rule prevented Los Angeles residents from watering their outdoor areas more than once a week. However, the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” stars had other ideas. That month, Kim received multiple water notices for two properties under her name. The KKW Beauty founder’s Hidden Hills home exceeded its water budget by about “232,000 gallons.”

A month later, the socialite’s older sister, Kourtney, got dragged for similar misconduct. The 43-year-old entertainer’s luxurious home in Calabasas surpassed its water limit by “245%.” For June’s water budget, records showed that Hart exceeded the restrictions by roughly “519%.” On the same note, Wade and his wife did not fare better.

The retired athlete and the actress went over their allocated limit by “1,400%,” which could be roughly converted to 90,000 gallons of water. Shockingly, this insane amount was nothing compared to the couple’s water usage in May. The A-listers went over their budget by 489,000 gallons.

On the bright side, the “Cheaper by the Dozen” actress and her husband felt remorseful about their actions. The pair released a statement where they promised to rectify the issue. As for Stallone, the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree’s property used “230,000 gallons” more than the water budget. Following the news, the “John Rambo” actor addressed the situation through his attorney, Marty Singer.

The legal representative told sources that his client “responsibly and proactively” tried to resolve the problem. However, the “Rocky” star’s water consumption came from satisfying the needs of the numerous trees on his property. Las Virgenes’ representative, Mike McNutt, confessed that the water district needed celebrities’ help to beat the drought. If these TV personalities followed the rules, the organization believed the public would follow.

Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton & More Listed As Worst Carbon Emitters

Last month, The Blast reported that a marketing agency called “Yard” surveyed celebrities with the highest carbon emissions from private jet travel. Surprisingly, Kylie Jenner inspired this inspection with her controversial post about using a private jet for a 17-minute flight to Van Nuys.

Although the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner appeared to prefer her comfort over environmental health, the 25-year-old did not top the polluters’ list. After viewing over 1,500 celebrity flights, Yard discovered that the Kylie Cosmetics founder’s sister, Kim, Taylor Swift, Floyd Mayweather, and Blake Shelton, have contributed the most carbon emissions.

The 11-time Grammy recipient’s private jet experiences have released 8,293.54 tonnes of gas in the past seven months with an in-air time average of 16 days.
