Broadway’s ‘A Strange Loop’ Cast Performs on ‘Meyers’ After Earning the Most Tony Nominations

Jaquel Spivey and the cast of Broadway’s hot new musical A Strange Loop hit the stage for a performance on Late Night with Seth Meyers this week!

The cast performed the song “Inner White Girl” during an appearance on the late night show on Thursday (May 12) in New York City.

The show’s composer Michael R. Jackson appeared on the talk show for an interview before the performance.

Earlier in the day, the show’s Tony-nominated stars Jaquel Spivey, L Morgan Lee and John-Andrew Morrison attended a Meet the Nominees event for the upcoming Tony Awards.

A Strange Loop received 11 Tony nominations this week, more than any other show on Broadway. The musical is currently running at the Lyceum Theatre.

Here’s the show’s synopsis: “Meet Usher: a Black, queer writer writing a musical about a Black, queer writer writing a musical about a Black, queer writer… Michael R. Jackson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning, blisteringly funny masterwork exposes the heart and soul of a young artist grappling with desires, identity, and instincts he both loves and loathes. Hell-bent on breaking free of his own self-perception, Usher wrestles with the thoughts in his head, brought to life on stage by a hilarious, straight-shooting ensemble. Bold and heartfelt in its truth-telling, A Strange Loop is the big, Black, and queer-ass Great American Musical for all.”
