On Tuesday, May 10, Wilson arrived at Beverly Hills’ London West Hollywood for a special screening and reception of “Senior Year.” She spoke to PEOPLE about her goal to become an Academy Award winner, gushing she said:

“I definitely want to win an Oscar. I think comedy doesn’t get respected in the same way, so it’s not going to be for Senior Year, but maybe for one of my dramatic movies coming up. That’s definitely a big goal of mine.”

The “Isn’t It Romantic” star does not just act but also works as a producer. She touched on her passion for creating movies that depict beneficial messages, saying:

“Producing-wise, I just love producing stuff that has really positive messages or something to say. I’m so proud of Senior Year, of its inclusivity message, and it’s a message about … high school doesn’t define you, and it can just go on.”

Wilson added that she has many goals on her career bucket list, but “the biggest would be to win an Oscar, I think.”

The “Pitch Perfect” star may not have her Academy Award yet, but she got to tick another wish off her list by giving a jaw-dropping dance to a Britney Spears single.

The outlet shared that in “Senior Year,” Wilson stars as a cheerleader who rises from a coma of two decades.

The story follows the lead completing her high school senior year with much younger students who have drastically different takes on modern pop culture.

Wilson spoke on her character’s moves to Spears’ “You Drive Me Crazy,” noting that it adds another element to the movie asides from jokes and improvisation. She explained:

“You’ve got the physicality with the dancing as well as the physicality you have sometimes in the comedy, like falling over or some of the stunts, which luckily I have a stunt double to do some of that. But yeah, it was a lot.”

In addition to her impressive dance skills, Wilson showed off her jaw-dropping new frame in “Senior Year,” which brought about speculations that she used drastic weight loss methods.

In April The Blast disclosed that the blonde beauty took to her Instagram Story to refute claims from an outlet with a screenshot that read:

“How to eat yourself slim like Rebel Wilson: Aussie star reveals the daily diet she used to shed an extraordinary 35kg and transform herself into one of Hollywood’s leading ladies.”

The publication attributed Wilson’s weight loss to the Mayr Method diet plan, alleging that she followed it for several months to attain her new frame.

Wilson wrote in the post, “This was NEVER my diet. Please stop writing this stuff.” In another upload, she addressed claims that she is involved in shady endorsement deals.

These dealings include diet pills, weight loss drugs, or cryptocurrency, all of which the “How To Be Single” actress clarified that she never supported.

Wilson took charge by asking people who come across any such pages to report them as a scam rather than sending information about it to her direct messages.

The 42-year-old clarified, “If I’m endorsing something, you’ll see it only as official posts on my official and verified social media.”

Wilson concluded her post by extending her gratitude to her fans for their support and concern over the false news. She wrote:

“Thanks, everyone – it’s really annoying when people use my image unlawfully or in misleading ways. Do NOT want anyone to get scammed. Love you guys xoxo.”

The “Senior Year” actress’s weight loss was previously disapproved by her team, who wanted her to keep being TV’s “funny fat girl.” Wilson recalled:

“They were like, ‘Why? Why would you wanna do that?’ Because I was earning millions of dollars being the funny fat girl and being that person.”
