How ‘RHOBH’s Dorit Kemsley Is Moving On From Harrowing Burglary

Last night’s season premiere of the “Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills” was jam packed with the series’ signature sense of drama, but the episode’s main focus was incredibly somber.

The episode opened with the security footage from Dorit and PK Kemsley’s home, of a burglar breaking the glass from a window.

PK had notably been away in London.

Viewers were finally able to get the full picture of what happened to Kemsley on October 27th of last year.

Fans were able to witness the daily activities of every ‘Housewife’ on that day, including Kemsley’s two children having a karate lesson, and Kemsley facetiming Garcelle Beauvais only five hours before the robbery took place.

Later in the episode, Kemsley recalled the harrowing experience to the other ladies at Kyle Richards’ and Mauricio Umansky’s house.

She recalled the events with devastating detail, including how she had decided to put her children- who sleep with her while their father is out of town- into their own bed shortly before the burglary took place.

Viewers also were able to see PK come back stateside and reunite with his wife.

The highly emotional reunion lasted for the remainder of the episode and served as a precursor to Kemsley’s appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” where she discussed the incident at length.

She did not hold back while recounting her feelings to Cohen.

In the interview, she delivered a difficult piece of news: no arrests have been made at this time.

“No, not yet,” she said, answering a question on the subject, “I don’t believe so.”

Having to relive one of the most harrowing experiences of her life while rewatching the episode was, understandably, hard for Kemsley.

“Obviously, it’s a particularly difficult time because I’m reliving it, and there’s a lot that’s resurfacing. But, you know, I’ll get through it. I know I will,” she said, per People.

Not only did Kemsley have to witness the security camera footage again, she also had to revisit herself telling her friends the complete break-down of what had happened between her and the men who broke into her house.

Kemsley’s seven-year-old son Jagger and her five-year-old daughter Phoenix were sleeping in another room while it was happening.

Kemsley was honest when explaining why her security system had not gone off when the incident happened.

“If I put the alarm on- and the reason why I don’t, or hadn’t before- is because [her children] could drift downstairs and the alarm would go off,” she said.

According to Us Weekly, she had “pleaded with the robbers not to harm her children.” she had also been held at gunpoint, which had been a focus on last night’s episode.

“I am grateful that I was able to be level-headed,” she also recalled to Cohen, “Because I look back, and think, ‘My God, it could have gone a hundred different ways.” (via People.)

The couple were both overwhelmed with gratitude at the public’s reaction to the incident.

At the time, PK thanked fans on social media for their “kind words and support.”

“I would like to thank you all for your kind words of support. Dorit and myself have been overwhelmed by the show of love. We can’t respond to every message (I can’t even respond to all the texts and what’s apps)…. So I wanted to tell you all that we are doing OK. I’m home and we are all together and will get through this. The babies are great they are the totally unaware and life is going to return to normal hopefully very quickly.” (via Us Weekly.)
