As you could imagine people have thrown various names out there from Harry Styles to Harrison Ford. And as incredible as that would be, The Blast has learned from sources who the show is focusing on and who they want to host this upcoming season.

A source close to SNL has shared the thought process on this season and have told us EXCLUSIVELY, “Look, it is people’s dreams to host and be a part of SNL, so some of the stars that are on the list are a couple people that would be returning to host again but there are a couple new faces as well.”

Last season saw Kim Kardashian, Simu Lu, Owen Wilson, Lizzo and more tackle various duties in hosting and performing and in Kim Kardashian’s case, she got a temporary boyfriend out of the deal.

So who are the stars being asked to come aboard this season?

‘SNL’ Looking To Get Some Major Stars To Host Season 48

NBC

Sources close to production have told The Blast EXCLUSIVELY the Hollywood stars that SNL creator Lorne Michaels would love to see on the show this upcoming season and everyone on the list would be very impressive saying. “Season 48 is going to be awesome, especially with the people they have asked to be on the show. The Rock, Jamie Lee Curtis, Amy Adams have been asked. Zoe Saldana and Tom Hanks have been asked, it all really comes down to their schedules.” Now most have hosted before, so they would be familiar with the process but it doesn’t end there on who they would like to see and have be a part of the show.

“Billy Eichner would be a big get because he has a big movie coming out this fall and he is hilarious, and they are going to ask Taylor Swift to host and be a musical guest if they haven’t already and last but not least they want someone from the new Black Panther film to host as well.”

Our source concluded with, “Only schedules would mess up things, but anticipate to see these names on your TV when you watch SNL this season and it will be incredible!”

And we would have to agree, it sounds like a powerhouse season is upcoming, along with all these names and the other names in music and Hollywood they most certainly will get, it should be yet another successful season for the show.

What Cast Members Will Not Be Returning To SNL This Season?

As important as it is to have great hosts, the cast is a major component to the show. Every year there are changes to the cast as the show is always updating and adding new faces, but that also means people have to say goodbye. Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon, Kyle Mooney and Pete Davidson are not returning and moving on to different projects.

They all have their own reasons, in McKinnon’s case, she shared her thoughts on a recent episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan what her thought process was with it all saying, “I thought about it for a very long time, and it was very, very hard because all I ever wanted to do in my whole life was be on Saturday Night Live, and so I did. I loved it. I had the best decade, and then I was just like, my body was tired, and I felt like it was time.”

But whatever the case may be with cast members leaving, almost 50 years of comedy the show has given us through endless amount of cast members has made the show what it is today. It is a train that we need to keep on the tracks because when SNL is funny, it is second to none. And with the hosts they have in mind, it might be safe to say that things are on a great path to continue!
