12 “She-Hulk” Details From Episode 3 That Are Simply Great, But You Just Might’ve Missed Them

12 “She-Hulk” Details From Episode 3 That Are Simply Great, But You Just Might’ve Missed Them
? Warning: There are MASSIVE spoilers ahead for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 3 on Disney+! ?
Hi, hello, and welcome back to these chaotic Marvel posts where I try to break down every detail or cool Easter egg. So, here are all the details I noticed in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 3:
If you’re new to these posts, welcome, and I apologize for all of my nerdy yelling! If you’re returning after WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki Season 1, What If…? Season 1, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, AND Ms. Marvel, well then, thanks so much for coming back!
1. First, when Nikki looks up Wong on social media, she finds his LinkedIn page, and you can see that before becoming a librarian at Kamar-Taj and eventually the Sorcerer Supreme, he worked at Target.
Marvel / Disney+2. And you can see that Nikki’s only mutual connection with Wong is Bruce Banner.
Marvel / Disney+3. When the video plays showing The Tattle News reporting on She-Hulk, you can spot other related videos, which include “She-Hulk not real. Theory,” “Super Hero Hoax,” and “The Truth about so-called She-Hulk.”
Marvel / Disney+4. A lot of the online comments She-Hulk is getting are negative and talk about “why does every superhero have to be a woman now?” This is a playful callout of the real-life comments made about the MCU’s female superheroes, most recently being She-Hulk. In fact, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has been getting “review bombed” by similar trolls on sites like IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes.
Marvel / Disney+5. When someone goes live to talk about She-Hulk, you can read some of the comments being posted, which include more people hating on She-Hulk, as well as someone hoping she talks about “endangered lemurs.”
Marvel / Disney+6. This episode introduces us to Mallory Book, who is played by Renée Elise Goldsberry and is a character from the She-Hulk comics. In the comics, Mallory also works with Jen at GLK&H, and the two become rivals because before Jen, Mallory was the top lawyer at the company.
Marvel / Disney+7. When Wong talks to Jen about how he broke Blonsky out of prison, he mentions that he won’t erase people’s memories again. This is a nod to Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Doctor Strange mentions to Peter Parker that he can erase everyone’s memories, and Wong is against it. Of course, Strange ends up using the spell so everyone forgets Peter, but what I’m wondering now: Does Wong remember this spell happening? Like, does he remember Peter? Or is Wong just upset he doesn’t remember the full moon party? LOL.
Marvel / Disney+ / Sony8. When Pug is watching the video of the Megan Thee Stallion impersonator fight, you can see a related video about the Iron Man 3 sneakers. An ad for the shoes was also seen in Episode 2.
Marvel / Disney+9. When Jen is going through her list of witnesses for Blonsky’s parole hearing, you’ll notice that she has Wong’s name in quotation marks, since she’s not 100% certain that’s even his real name.
Marvel / Disney+10. When Runa begins talking about how Asgard is so much more than a place, she begins quoting Heimdall’s inspirational moment from the ending of Thor: Ragnarok after Asgard is destroyed. Odin also alludes to Asgard not just being a place earlier in the film, too.
Marvel / Disney+11. As Jen leaves the prison, one of the reporters asks if she actually got her Hulk powers from a “Mafia hit gone wrong.” This is actually a nod to how Jennifer got her powers in the comics. In the She-Hulk comics, Jen gains her Hulk powers after she is in need of a blood transfusion after a hit gone wrong, and Bruce is the only available donor.
Marvel / Disney+12. And finally, this episode ends with Jen being attacked by the Wrecking Crew, who are from the comics. In the comic books, this construction crew got superpowers after a lightning strike, and they often go up against Thor. This is even hinted at in the show when they say they got their superpowered tools when they robbed an Asgardian.
Marvel / Disney+Also, this isn’t an Easter egg or detail, but I have been laughing all day about Megan Thee Stallion being in this episode, and if you want to know more about how her cameo came to be, you can read about it here!
