Madonna Defends Her Very Risque 3D NFT Videos: ‘I’m Giving Birth To Art’

Music icon Madonna said she put in a lot of thought before releasing her bizarre graphic NFT videos. The singer recently released three NFT videos collectively titled “Mother of Creation,” which depicted the star nude in three different locations.

In the videos, the digitalized version of the star was seen in the process of giving birth to everything but a baby. In the first video, she was shown producing a tree from her genitals; in the second several butterflies, and the third video saw her give birth to, of all things, a robot centipede.

The NFT videos were met with unsavory comments from the public, all of which Madonna responded to in an Instagram post. According to her, the videos were made after a lot of “thought and conversation.” The artist added that she was giving birth to art and creativity in the video, which is very important.

Madonna Said She Was ‘Giving Birth To Art And Creativity’

Madonna recently responded to the backlash over her controversial NFT videos. The released videos depicted the nude 3D version of the artist giving birth to trees, butterflies, and, oddly enough, robotic centipedes. It also featured graphic, digital scans of the “Like a Virgin” artist’s own vagina.

On Wednesday, the artist released an interview with Mike Winkelmann, the creator of Beeple. There, Madonna defended herself and her work. The 63-year-old said she was only “doing what women have been doing since the beginning of time, which is giving birth.”

She continued, “But on a more existential level, I’m giving birth to art and creativity, and we would be lost without both.” The NFT collection, also known as a non-fungible token, was named “Mother Of Creation.”

The NFT Proceeds Will Be Given To Charity

The artist collaborated with the animator of Beeple and apparently put a lot of “thought and conversation” into the videos while creating them. The proceeds of the sale of the NFTs will be reportedly shared amongst charities National Ball Out, V-Day, and Voices of Children.

Madonna went on to talk about her vision concerning the work. She said, “I say we need a forest with creepy crawly bugs coming out of me. Not often does a robot centipede crawl out of my vagina.”

The 63-year-old continued, “My journey through life as a woman is like that of a tree. Starting with a small seed, always pushing against the resistance of the Earth. The endless weight of gravity.” Madonna further revealed that the NFT was “to investigate the concept of creation, not only the way a child enters the world through a woman’s vagina but also the way an artist gives birth to creativity.”

‘Mother Of Creation’ Has Three Videos

The entire NFT video series was collectively titled “Mother of Creation” and featured three videos of the 3D version of the artist in different settings while in the throes of giving birth. According to the website, the message to be passed across was that “you never know where you are going to find life, and you can never give up hope.”

What it’s all about…….Honored to be able to dedicate all proceeds from this project to @NationalBailOut, @VDay and @voices_org_ua with @beeple ❤️❤️❤️❤️

The first video, “Mother of Nature,” showed the digitalized version of the singer sitting nude on a steel examination table in a lab. As the clip unfolded, a tree was seen growing out of the “Material Girl” singer’s vagina, with bark, branches, and flowers that suspiciously resembled an actual vagina.

The second work was titled “Mother of Evolution” and saw 3D Madonna, also nude, atop an old truck. She was in the act of giving birth, but unlike the first video, the 3D model of the star was giving birth to butterflies.

“Mother of Technology” was the third and final video. There the digitalized form of the artist is seen naked in a forest, in her signature birth pose. Unlike the first two videos, the image gave birth to metal centipedes.

Reaction To The NFT Videos

After the videos were released, they sparked several reactions from her fans, most unsavory. Some Twitter users branded the “Hung Up” artist as being “desperate for attention” and referred to the released videos as “scary,” “cringe,” and “creepy.”

A comment read, “Could someone please break it gently to @Madonna that not everybody wants to see her vagina?”

One fan who loved it commented, “Okay, I really don’t get the idea of N*Ts, and think they’re a colossal waste of money. But while the ones you see consist of badly drawn jpgs of apes or cheap looking gifs, leave it to #Madonna to actually make some that can be called actual art. Beautiful and provocative..”

A Twitter user said that they wanted to “get the f–k off the planet” right after watching the videos. A fan concluded, “Technology was a mistake,” after watching the clips. Yet another follower added sarcastically, “Just what the world needs right now, Madonna.”
