WWE Promotes Paul "Triple H" Levesque To New Role

WWE announced Tuesday that Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who assumed the reins of the company’s creative responsibilities after the resignation of longtime Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, has been promoted to chief content officer.
Per the press release with the announcement, WWE stated that their flagship Monday Night Raw viewership has jumped 15 percent since Triple H took over on July 25. WWE has also reportedly seen “double-digit increases in social media engagement,” according to the release.
“WWE is one of the most prolific producers of premium content in the world and I look forward to this amazing opportunity,” said Levesque in a statement. “Having spent my entire career in this business, I’m confident that we have the right pieces in place to continue to grow our audience and deliver for our fans around the world.”
In the new role, Levesque will oversee creative writing, talent relations, live events, talent development, and creative services, most of which he already had a hand in while running WWE’s development brand, NXT. The role will also have him reporting to WWE co-CEO Nick Khan.
Triple H suffered a cardiac event in September 2021 which forced him to step away from in-ring competition. He wrestled professionally for three decades and won 14 WWE world championships as well as main-eventing Wrestlemania seven times.
Levesque is also being championed as being the person in charge of damage control of the massive layoffs and has already brought back nine former wrestlers, the latest being Braun Strowman.
