Sports Illustrated is reporting that AEW owner and president Tony Khan has made some decisions about the fight that broke out backstage between newly-crowned AEW World Champion CM Punk (real name Phil Brooks) and his executive vice presidents and also the first AEW Trios Champs The Elite (The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega) after the All Out press scrum turned into a backstage brawl.

The situation started at the scrum with Punk asking Nick Hausman from WrestlingInc if he’s friends with Scott Colton, aka Colt Cabana. That led Punk into an unprovoked tirade about journalistic integrity without being asked a question despite Punk saying it’s a shame he has to talk about this on “his time.” Even after being asked about MJF, Punk continued to berate Colton. Punk also accused Hangman Adam Page for “going into business for himself” on live television as well as accusing the EVPs of feeding rumors to wrestling sites.

He continued dragging an EVP saying “if you’re an EVP you don’t try to middle your top babyface” and how they “step on their own dick” in the way of getting money. “I’m old, I’m tired, and I work with f—ing children,” he continued.

Along with Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, and Kenny Omega, Christopher Daniels, Pat Buck, Michael Nakazawa, and Brandon Cutler have all been suspended following their role in the backstage altercation. Several sources for Sports Illustrated said that AEW World Champion CM Punk, who instigated the fight with his comments during the press scrum, and his friend (and AEW trainer) Ace Steel, will either be included in those suspensions or fired from the company altogether. Their fates will reportedly be decided by the end of Wednesday, possibly before Dynamite airs.

It is believed that Punk had a meeting with Khan on Tuesday to discuss the situation and how it will be handled. SI also reports that an independent third party is being brought in to investigate the locker room situation further, which was confirmed by Dave Meltzer.

Everyone involved in the brawl is now officially suspended, Bucks, Omega, plus Pat Buck, Christopher Daniels, Brandon Cutler and Michael Nakazawa. Ace Steel was also taken off and Punk’s situation should be clear soon. It’s all pending the completion of the investigation.

The usually verbose CEO Khan has been silent since the event and has taken heavy criticism from fans and peers for how he handled the situation as Punk aired his grievances after the pay-per-view.

Punk left the stage and you can see security running into the back later on as the press event took place. The fight reportedly went on for about six minutes with Steel actually biting Omega. There were neutral third parties that were witnesses to the brawl as well.

Page had already left the building after his trios title match, which explains his absence from the altercation altogether.
