Star Wars 10 Needs To Bring One Skywalker Back (Not Luke Or Anakin)
Anakin and Luke may have had their fair share of Force ghost appearances, but another Skywalker appearance would make more sense for Star Wars 10.

Star Wars 10 Needs To Bring One Skywalker Back (Not Luke Or Anakin)

Rumors about Star Wars 10 being about a revamped Jedi Order first started circulating in February 2022, and the tenth installment of the Skywalker Saga should indeed bring back a Skywalker, but it shouldn’t be Luke or Anakin. If there one day is a Star Wars 10 and it brings back a new version of the Jedi Order, it would have to happen after the events of the sequel trilogy, as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker ended with Rey accepting the Skywalker legacy but also building her own path as a Force user. If the Skywalker Saga doesn’t completely end with Star Wars 9, though, it should also bring a specific Skywalker back.

While the only future Star Wars project confirmed for the big screen right now is Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron in 2023, various rumors about Star Wars 10 have been going around, including a potential Star Wars movie from Damon Lindelof. With most of the new Star Wars TV shows having their stories set either before, during, or right after the events of the original trilogy, Star Wars 10 being about a revamped Jedi Order would set it apart as the first Disney-led Lucasfilm Star Wars movie after the sequel trilogy actually happening after the events of Star Wars 9.

Whether Star Wars 10 showed the new version of the Jedi Order as being created by Rey or already established in the relatively far future, it’s not unlikely it would include an appearance from someone of the Skywalker line, possibly in the form of a Force ghost. Instead of showing Luke or Anakin, however, who have already appeared as Force ghosts, Star Wars 10 should bring back Ben Solo. While not bearing the Skywalker name, by being Leia’s son, Ben is part of the Skywalker line as Anakin’s grandson and Luke’s nephew. In addition, as he sacrificed himself and died to save Rey in Star Wars 9, disappearing just like Luke did in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it’s not a long stretch to assume that Ben became part of the Force as Luke did, having found redemption in the end and come back to the light side.

Ben appearing as a Force ghost would make more sense than either Luke or Anakin appearing to Rey. Luke shaped Rey’s connection to the Force and Leia trained her, so it made sense for them to appear to her at the end of Star Wars 9. However, Anakin had no direct connection whatsoever to Rey. Anakin being one of the many Jedi voices speaking to Rey in Rise of Skywalker made sense, as he was part of the larger whole of Jedi ancestors lending Rey their strength. But him appearing as a Force ghost to her would be another matter altogether. Conversely, Ben had an incredibly strong connection with Rey, as they were revealed to be a rare Force Dyad, two halves of a whole. In addition, Ben was one of the last few Jedi to be trained by Luke before destroying the Temple and joining the dark side. Therefore, Ben visiting the newfound Jedi Order would make more sense than any other Skywalker visiting again.

Ben Solo returning as a Force ghost would make the most sense considering the ending of Star Wars 9. Future Star Wars movies focusing on Kylo Ren/Ben Solo are always on the table, but at the moment, there is no hint that that’s in the plans. If Ben were to appear in Star Wars 10, audiences would likely gain a lot from his presence, especially if he were used in such a way that illustrated how powerful a Dyad connection is, even after death.
