Sherri Shepherd Reveals Amazing Advice She Got From Oprah Winfrey

American actress Sherri Shepherd recently shed light on the words wise veteran talk show host Oprah Winfrey gave her days before her talk show’s premiere. The 55-year-old is set to fill the shoes of Wendy Williams after the show host started experiencing health issues.

In February, Shepherd stayed as a permanent guest host on “The Wendy Williams Show” while the TV executives monitored Williams’ health.

After it was confirmed that Shepherd would be hosting her own show to replace William’s, the 58-year-old’s famous poster was removed in preparation for the new show. The actress also recently shed some light on advice given to her by Winfrey for her fast-approaching self-titled show.

Shepherd is set to start her self-titled show and take over Williams’ spot in a few days, and the 55-year-old talked about the kind of advice she was getting. According to TMZ, the actress was counseled by none other than talk show host extraordinaire Winfrey.

The news platform revealed that the “Sherri” star was told by the “The Oprah Winfrey Show” host how to act while hosting the self-titled show. Shepherd claimed that Winfrey simply advised her to exude good vibes. She said the talk show host told her that “the energy I put out, I get it back.”

When asked how she felt receiving the advice from the philanthropist, she described it as “amazing.” The 55-year-old will reportedly take over William’s spot at the Chelsea Studios as well as the former talk show host’s poster slot outside the studio. Guest celebrities for the show have reportedly been booked far into the fall.

In preparation for Shepherd’s talk show, the show’s organizers placed promotional ads in several locations, including the exact place where a large poster for “The Wendy Williams Show” was. The poster location is in New York, just outside the studio Shepherd will shoot the talk show.

TMZ reported at the time that the redesign of the studio for the new show was moving fast enough and would be rounded up in time for the premiere. The set will reportedly have several bright colors to mirror the personality of the new show host. The colors will resemble those displayed on the show’s poster.

Earlier, Williams spoke to Fat Joe in an interview and revealed that she had no intention of tuning into the new show to watch Shepard. She said, “I like her, but I won’t be watching her because I know what she’s gonna be doing, and that’s really not my thing. Um, you know? You know what I’m saying?”

After a series of health struggles on Williams’ part, Shepherd was named permanent guest host on the show. The decision was almost set in stone then; however, the producers gave Williams a time frame to take back her role.

According to reports, If she were to make any significant improvements in her health before season 15, the writer would continue in her role. However, if her ailments persisted, the show’s name would be changed to the new host.

The 58-year-old first moved away from her position as the show host in October last year due to Graves Disease. Williams was reportedly going through “serious complications” from the illness and, in addition, had to contend with a thyroid condition. Both ailments started after the former show host recovered from COVID-19.

After Williams made her last appearance on the show in season 13, the host could not join season 14; however, the show had several guest hosts to fill in for her. Celebrities like Bill Bellamy, Leah Remini, and Whitney Cummings played host at the time.

The show’s producers released a statement last month, bidding Williams farewell. The statement read per TMZ, “This is also a bitter-sweet moment for us and our partners at Fox. We all have great love and affinity for Wendy, who grew into a true icon during her 12 incredible seasons as the solo host of a live, daily talk show dishing on ‘Hot Topics’ and interviewing celebrities.”

Shepherd previously played host on shows like “Dish Nation” and “The View,” so her new role in the self-titled show will not be foreign to her.
