Twisted Metal TV Show Adaptation Casts Brooklyn 99’s Stephanie Beatriz

Brooklyn 99‘s Stephanie Beatriz is joining the cast of the upcoming Twisted Metal live-action television adaptation. Peacock’s comedy show, based on the popular PlayStation video game series of the same name, is being brought to life by Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with Michael Jonathan Smith serving as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Replicating the demolition derby scenario of the games, it will follow John Doe, an outsider offered a chance at a better life. But to attain it, he must get a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Anthony Mackie was previously cast as John Doe and will also produce the highly anticipated series.

Now, Peacock has announced that Stephanie Beatriz will star alongside Mackie in Twisted Metal. She will play Quiet, a fierce and instinctive car thief who comes from “a community that oppressed her into silence.” Clouded by revenge, she will form an unlikely, antagonistic bond with John Doe.

Fans of Beatriz’s are familiar with her work on Brooklyn 99, playing Rosa Diaz, and her voice role in 2021’s Encanto. The former has amassed a large fanbase, and knowing how tough and funny the character of Rosa was, fans are likely eager to see the star take on the role of Quiet. With Mackie revealing Twisted Metal begins filming soon, it will only be a matter of time until more casting news surfaces. For now, audiences can look forward to getting to see Beatriz and Mackie together on screen when Twisted Metal releases on Peacock.
