Britney Spears And Sam Asghari Lost Their ‘Miracle Baby Early In The Pregnancy’
On Saturday, Britney Spears and Sam Asghari issued a joint statement to Instagram.
About a month ago, Britney revealed on Instagram that she and Sam were expecting their first child. Fans had speculated that the “Gimme More” singer was posting cryptic hints that she was about to welcome a daughter after she previously had two now-teenage sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
However, on May 14, Britney took to Instagram to let her followers know that she had lost her baby.
Britney Spears Shares That They Have Lost Their ‘Miracle Baby’
In a message signed “Sam & Britney,” the couple let the world know that they were no longer expecting a child together.
Britney, 40, posted a statement that read, “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy. This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news.”
“Our love for each other is our strength,” the statement continued. “We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all of your support. We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment.”
In the caption, Britney wrote, “We are grateful for what we have in the process of expanding our beautiful family ? Thank you for your support.”

Sam Asghari Recently Revealed How Much He Wanted To Be A Father
In late April, Sam told Access Hollywood that he did not want to know the sex of the baby until it was born.
“That’s up to her [if she wants to know], but I don’t want to,” he told host Mario Lopez. “That’s something I want to wait for.”
“If it’s a daughter, it’s going to be the most spoiled princess ever,” he continued. “If it’s a son, it’s going to be the toughest son — I’m going to be tough on the kid.”
He added that he wanted to be a hands-on father to his first child. “Absolutely man, hands-on as much as possible,” he said. “This is my baby. My first baby.”
In an interview with BBC Persian before Britney’s big reveal, Sam said that he was ready to be a father “three years ago.”
In June 2021, Britney told a Los Angeles judge that she wanted to have a baby with her then-boyfriend, but that she was forced to be on birth control during her stifling 13-year conservatorship. “I want to have the real deal. I want to be able to get married and have a baby,” she said at the time. “I was told right now under the conservatorship, I’m not able to get married or have a baby.”
A judge terminated the conservatorship in November 2021, which meant that she was able to control whether or not she was on birth control. Sam had popped the questions two months earlier in 2021 after five years of dating. The two had met on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video in 2016 and started dating shortly after.
In the BBC Persian interview, Sam said, “Yeah, I mean, this should have happened three years ago, to be honest with you.” He continued, “When you’re in a relationship with someone that you’re truly in love with, you want to recreate. And this is something that I want to do.”
Sam also opened up about the support that Britney received following the end of her conservatorship. “I can only speak on my reaction and it was phenomenal to see how everybody was so supportive and the whole world was engaged in it in a sense,” he told the outlet.
“I think people relate and it kind of unites people in a way, you know, as far as all these divisions that we have going on and not only in this country but globally,” he continued. “But I think people also like to unite in a way.”
