When it comes to awards shows, I don’t just look forward to what my favorite celebs will be wearing on the red carpet — I also can’t wait to see how their hair and makeup will be styled. This year’s 2022 Emmy Awards did not disappoint.

“For Zendaya’s Emmys look, we decided to go with a vintage theme inspired by Grace Kelly, a classic silhouette,” said celebrity hairstylist Tony Medina in a press release.

To achieve this, he used Tangle Teezer’s The Ultimate Styler to add volume and shine to Zendaya’s hair, according to a press release. “I strategically placed two 20-inch Hidden Crown Hair Seamless clip in extensions in Medium Auburn Brown to the center of the back of her head for fullness,” he said.

“I gave them a trim to match her hair length and pin curled them to blend in with her head of curls. To secure the extensions, I added a bit of teasing at the root using the skinny side of Tangle Teezer’s Wide Tooth Comb,” he continued in the press release.

To set the actor’s curls, Tony used Aunt Jackie’s Frizz Patrol Mousse on each section and then gently brushed them out with Tangle Teezer’s Wide Tooth Comb to create a waved shape toward the bottom of her style.

For finishing touches, Tony used Aunt Jackie’s Slicked Flexible Styling Glue on her hairline and Aunt Jackie’s Shine Boss for an overall glossy finish.

Celebrity hairstylist Glen Oropeza, who worked on Sydney’s hair, said the inspiration for her hair was Jennifer Lawrence when she cut her hair into a long bob.

“We’ve been wanting to do a completely new look for some time and tonight felt like the right moment knowing what a big night it is for Sydney,” Glen said in a press release. “We thought this fresh cut and style would complement the back of the dress beautifully along with the neckline.”

Glen applied Nexxus Weightless Style Smooth & Full Blow Dry Balm all over her wet hair, focusing most of the product on the ends of the hair to heat protect, offer frizz control, and boost volume.

He used the Shark FlexStyle™ Air Styling & Drying System – an all-in-one hair dryer and styler – with the round brush attachment. According to the press release, he took small sections of the hair and dried it outward beginning from the back of her head and moving toward the front.

He finished by adding some soft bends and curls into different sections of her hair.

Lizzo’s stiletto fire-red nails were everything.

According to a press release, celebrity makeup artist Joanna Simkin relied on Lancer Skincare to get Issa’s skin red carpet ready. She prepped her skin by first using The Method: Polish, which gently exfoliates the skin to make it smooth for makeup application.

Next was the Lift & Plump Sheet Mask to promote hydration and ensure Issa had long-lasting moisture throughout the night. From there, Joanna used the brand’s Triple Peptide Drops, which are packed with vitamin E and niacinamide to deliver a youthful radiant glow to Issa’s skin.

To brighten the eye area, Joanna used the Legacy Eye Treatment Duo, which is infused with crushed pearl and has an applicator that gently massages the delicate skin under the eye to reduce any puffiness.

For moisturizer, she used a small amount of the Legacy Youth Treatment on Issa’s face, neck, and décolleté. The final step for Issa’s red carpet skincare was to prep the lips with the Volume Enhancing Lip Serum for lush, youthful lips.

Clairol Professional Shimmer Lights Ambassador Christine Symonds created Kaley’s chic knot by first prepping with Clairol Professional Thermal Shine Spray and Leave-In Styling Treatment, as described in a press release.

Then, she gave her a voluminous blow-dry before pulling her hair back into a loose low pony. The trick was that she didn’t pull her hair all the way through on the second wrap to leave a knot. Christine left out Kaley’s bangs and added some Thermal Shine Spray to make sure everything stayed in place.
