Cheryl Burke Secures ‘DWTS’ Fortune In Divorce Settlement With Matthew Lawrence
‘DWTS’ star Cheryl Burke has settled her divorce with Matthew Lawrence, and the dancer will be keeping her ‘Dancing With The Stars’ money.
According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, the famous former couple has settled their ongoing divorce and will follow a prenuptial agreement they signed before getting married.
In the agreement, the ex-couple agreed Cheryl get to keep all of her ‘Dancing With The Stars’ royalties and earnings, along with residuals and money earned with ‘QVC.’ Of course, Matthew, who is a former child star, will also keep any of his own royalties and residuals.
‘DWTS’ Star Cheryl Burke & Matthew Lawerence Battling Family Dog In Divorce?
The good news, the couple agreed to waive any spousal support to be paid to one another, but the bad news is it appears they have issues over the dog.
“The court expressly reserves jurisdiction for later determination of the issue of the ownership of the dog “Ysabella,” the filing states.
It continued, “On May 20, 2019, Petitioner and Respondent entered into a Premarital Agreement. The (agreement) is valid and enforceable in all respects, and neither Party challenges the validity of the Premarital Agreement. The terms of the Premarital Agreement are incorporated into this Judgment.”
In other words, all of the finances were worked out in advance. Plus, they will both pay their own attorney’s fees.
Cheryl Burke Reportedly In ‘No Rush’ To Get Back In Dating Pool
Interestingly, a report surfaced this week claiming Burke was in “no rush” to get divorced. That’s obviously not the case. This judgment and settlement will officially make the couple legally divorced — and it seems that the process was easy because of their prenup.
“There’s no rush. It’s not like I’ve got someone else to marry tomorrow, nor do I want that. I’m not even dating anybody at the moment,” Us Weekly reported.
Well, technically she is now open to legally marrying someone else.
Burke addressed the breakup on Instagram following The Blast’s story, saying, “I know I have always said I’m an open book with you guys, I do strive to be, and in writing this I’ve realized there really isn’t an easy way to announce that my marriage is ending.” Adding, “I hope you can understand that I will not be commenting any further at this time and am asking for understanding and privacy. Thank you all for all the kind words and support you’ve given me.”
Many believe Cheryl indicated there might have been infidelity in the marriage, after posting a TikTok video about the subject.
“When he said he would never talk to her again yet I found text messages, Viagra, and a necklace hidden in a pair of his shoes,” she wrote alongside a video of herself looking upset.
We broke the story, that ‘Dancing With The Stars’ is about to launch its 31st season, and will feature Selma Blair. It’s incredible considering she is battling MS and was unable to walk without the assistance of a cane just weeks ago. She will join Arnold Swearnegger’s son, Charli d’ Amelio, and Wayne Brady.
