‘SNL’ Announces Premiere Date & New Featured Players For Season 48
The 48th season of SNL is closely upon us and we have learned that their have been four new featured players announced for the 2022-23 season. And we also know when we are going to get new episodes. Hooray!
So what are those answers? Well we thought you’d never ask. Let us introduce you all to that new cast and when it comes to those new episodes, those are coming real soon!
SNL’ Getting Some Major Stars To Host Season 48
SNL has been an institution for comedy for so long that everyone has a different favorite cast member or sketch or event host because it has always been consistently good. As the years have gone by, the Emmys have been collected and the laughs have lasted forever. And the reason it has been so great is because they get the best of the best. And with the search of hosts, The Blast recently and EXCLUSIVELY revealed that Lorne Michaels and NBC are looking for a plethora of talent to host the show this season. Sources close to production have told The Blast EXCLUSIVELY their thoughts are that, “Season 48 is going to be awesome, especially with the people they have asked to be on the show. The Rock, Jamie Lee Curtis, Amy Adams have been asked. Zoe Saldana and Tom Hanks have been asked, it all really comes down to their schedules.”
Our source continued that others were on the wish list as they added, “Billy Eichner would be a big get because he has a big movie coming out this fall and he is hilarious, and they are going to ask Taylor Swift to host and be a musical guest if they haven’t already and last but not least they want someone from the new Black Panther film to host as well.” And only one thing would ruin the chances as our source concluded with, “Only schedules would mess up things, but anticipate to see these names on your TV when you watch SNL this season and it will be incredible!”
And now that the show has figured that half of the equation, they still have to put a cast together. With Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon and Kyle Mooney leaving the show along with Alex Moffat, Melissa Villaseñor and Aristotle Athari that leads lots of room to change things up.
Many spots are now open to have people return from previous seasons and new people to join the show. As for those that are new featured players, four have been announced and here they are.
‘SNL Announces Four New Featured Players To Cast
So who is joining the show? The four new featured players that have been announced are Marcello Hernandez who is a comedian, writer and actor who was once selected as a Just for Laughs New Face of Comedy in 2022. He joins Molly Kearney who has been seen in Comedy Central’s “Up Next” showcase in 2019. Kearney can also be seen in Amazon’s “A League of Their Own” and Disney+’s “The Mighty Ducks.”
Michael Longfellow who was on Netflix’s “Introducing …” showcase and NBC’s “Bring the Funny” joins the cast. He was also one of TBS’s “Comics to Watch” for the 2017 New York Comedy Festival. And finally Devon Walker completes the new four names to join ‘Saturday Night Live’. He has written for Freeform’s “Everything’s Trash” and Netflix’s “Big Mouth.” So it looks like some major talent is coming through, let us all hope they bring it and add to the laughs the show has always given us! Fingers crossed.
And we will find out soon as the show returns with their season premiere episode of “SNL” airing Oct. 1 on NBC and streaming live on Peacock. “SNL” will continue with live shows on Oct. 8th and Oct. 15th. More announcements should be coming in the next few days on hosts and musical guests.
