Wendy Williams Was Struggling For Some Time

In 2020, Williams was hospitalized for two blood transfusions due to her allegedly worsening alcohol addiction. By May of 2020, a group of friends actually went to check in on her, and reportedly said she was “catatonic” and stuck in her New York City apartment.

At the time, her manager allegedly refused to call 911 even after friends, like DJ Boof showed up and expressed grave concerns about her condition. But, they say he still was not compelled to get Williams medical help, telling her friends that his hands were tied and he didn’t want to draw attention by getting the authorities involved.

“I don’t think he understood the extent of what was going on,” a source told the NY Post. Adding, “I don’t think he wanted it to get out that she was not well, and he definitely didn’t want a 911 call like [what] happened a year later,” they claimed.

As we reported, in 2021, Williams was rushed to Beth Israel hospital in New York for a mental health check.

The new report also claims that after she was taken out of the apartment and secured at the hospital, they had the chance to enter her apartment and were appalled at what they saw.

“It was pretty much a mess. It was a mess.”

Wendy Williams’s Condition Was Shocking To Friends & Family

Sources close to the situation claim the usually dripping-in designer host was not lively and talkative. She wasn’t even self-aware apparently. “She was in her robe, it was soiled, she was catatonic, she was in a very, very bad state. She was looking at the ceiling. She was just not responsive, but her eyes were open, but she was definitely in a catatonic state.”

Immediately, they began to clean up the home and get rid of anything that could make life worst for Williams. “A case of alcohol, open wine bottles, and Ketel One, were visible in the corner. We started clearing out a lot of liquor,” shared the source.

All Hands On Deck To Help Wendy Williams

Apparently, many of the friends showed frustration with the manager and couldn’t believe the condition she was in at the moment. DJ Boof reportedly stood by her side and allegedly fed her ice chips because she was beyond dehydrated.

“She’s going to die. She literally couldn’t stand up,” claims the source. “She was just lying on top of the covers, and she needed 911 help, and [the manager] was like, ‘We’re not getting 911.’”

Ultimately, the deciding factor that pushed Williams to get help was a phone call from her son Kevin Hunter Jr. and her estranged husband Kevin Hunter Sr called and begged her to get help.

“Kevin and Kevin Jr. were both saying, ‘Please, come on, mom. Let [Ron and his team] come up,” shared the PageSix source. “Get some help.”

DJ Boof Hailed As Being Wendy Williams’s Savior

The consensus for the situation was that Williams’s good friend DJ Boof was the shining light in this situation. He was the one who allegedly drive Williams to the hospital where they found out she was “so low on iron.” Williams remained under medical supervision for about five days.

She supposedly doesn’t remember any of it. But one thing for sure, “Boof was the savior of her f—–g life.” Another source stressed the severity of the situation.

“If we were not there that day, she would not be here. She would not have made it. If it weren’t for Kevin and Ron Clinton and his team, she wouldn’t have made it.”

Thankfully, now, Williams is doing much better she even has the wherewithal to check herself into a wellness facility to better help her mental health. The on-air icon is starting her own podcast which appears to be on the road to launching soon.
