It’s probably incredibly fair to say that the grateful comments from certain second-season cast members are well justified!

The Blast has covered several news stories pertaining to the seemingly never-ending shadow of drama that has loomed over its cast since season two’s winter 2022 premiere.

Tales of mismatched couples and several instances of miscommunication dominated newsfeeds and continued to follow the cast members long after the reunion episode dropped in March.

Some notable examples include contestant Deepti Vempati having to continuously endure her ex-fiance Abshek ‘Shake’ Chatterjee’s often extremely rude commentary directed toward her and others affiliated with the show, Danielle Ruhl enduring backlash over her willingness to publicly share her ongoing mental health struggles, and multiple shocking divorce announcements.

Wait, What? Divorce Announcements?

The mood has been quite melancholy in the “Love Is Blind” universe as of late.

Both couples who ultimately decided to tie the knot in season two, Jarrette Jones and Iyanna McNeely and Nick Thompson and Danielle Ruhl, are no more.

McNeely and Jones announced their split first in mid-August.

The duo broke the news on their respective Instagram accounts, revealing their choice to amicably part ways and begin divorce proceedings.

“While we have love for each other,” the former couple’s joint statement read, “our lives are going in different directions, and that is okay.” Jones and McNeely also thanked their friends and family for providing them with support throughout their journey, and also reassured fans they both had zero regrets about finding one another on reality TV.

Only a few days after our story reporting on McNeely and Jones’ divorce announcement, news broke that Ruhl and Thompson would also be heading down separate paths.

According to our report, Ruhl had been the one to file for divorce.

Despite coming to the heartbreaking conclusion that the best decision for her and Thompson was to split up, Ruhl isn’t holding back when it comes to depicting her mourning process.

In a series of recent Instagram stories, Ruhl addressed those followers on social media who had been wondering why she had chosen to share both the positive and more negative moments of her life following the announcement.

“It’s funny when people are like, ‘why are you so happy?,’ she said in one video per Us Weekly, “Would you rather have me post an Instagram Live of me crying for eight hours straight because I can do that if you want [me] to! That’s my reality.” (via The Blast)

As of this writing, Thompson has not publicly discussed their divorce.

Will There Be Brighter Skies Ahead?

Yes, we know love is oftentimes messy, but there is also plenty of opportunity for new beginnings!

A new era for “Love Is Blind” will begin on October 19th when the third season is released on the platform.

Excitement (and a fair amount of skepticism) from fans was on full display as evidenced in the comment section of the Instagram reel. However, it seems that no group of viewers were more relieved to hear the news of season three being on its way than certain cast members, most notably McNeely and Chatterjee!

McNeely commented, “thank god” and included a praying hands emoji.

Cast member Natalie Lee, who ended up not making it to the altar with her ex Shayne Jansen, shared a series of surprising face emojis.

Mallory Zapata chose to greet the show’s upcoming era with optimism.

She commented “Good luck to the next pod squad” with a hand clap emoji; Zapata and her fiance Salvador ‘Sal’ Perez chose to part ways at the altar on their wedding day.

Chatterjee, however, did not hesitate to speak his mind.

The veterinarian commented, “Hope this is [sic] cast is better than the clout chasers on my season.” Many Instagram users were intrigued by his thoughts; as of this writing, his comment has 239 ‘likes!’
