Long-serving British royal Queen Elizabeth II passed away last week at the age of 96, succumbing to the natural effects of old age. With the monarch’s burial coming up in a few days, many individuals around the world have paid respect to her passage by observing the period of national mourning that was ordered by the royal house.

Others have also besieged Buckingham palace with candles and flowers to show how deeply her demise has impacted them. However, in what has to be a startling turn of events, three models competing in the UK Miss BumBum competition have declared their desire to go on a “sex fast” as their own way of paying respect to the late monarch.

No Sex Mourning In Honor Of Queen Elizabeth II

On Wednesday, one of the models from the UK Miss BumBum competition, Andréa Sunshine, shared on her Instagram page her declaration to avoid sexual intercourse during the laid down period of mourning for the monarch. The news of her decision was received by her followers, who are hoping to see her best her rivals to win the top prize.

“I mourn for a week as duly followed by all who respected and loved her,” the voluptuous blond penned on her page, per (New York Post.) “So I will put myself in sexual abstinence for this time of mourning! May God rest her soul in peace. #ripmajesty #london #uk.”

Another model, this time a brunette named Mikaelly, also informed her fans that she would also be abstaining from sex for a week as her own form of tribute to the queen.

“In mourning Queen Elizabeth I will go stay 1 week without sex,” the model captioned a risqué photo of herself.

A third model, Bianka Cabral, also echoed the sentiments of her colleagues, stating to her 594,000 followers that there would be no sex ahead of the demised queen’s burial.

The three models did not say if they had decided to adopt this stand together, but their post prompted their admirers to flood the comment sections with their opinions and adoration. Sunshine received the most comments from her almost 200,000 followers.

When Is Miss BumBum UK Holding?

Per Daily Star, all three models will compete against seven other contestants in the tournament, which will go until the end of September. The winner will get a cash award of around $6,000 and a coveted belt and crown.

The 10 Miss BumBum UK contestants will post a weekly trend with images shared on Miss BumBum’s official social media channels. The event’s winner will be proclaimed the owner of the most beautiful bum in the UK and unveiled on September 30 by presenter Israel Cassol through the contest’s official Instagram.

As the competition keeps heating up, participants like Iasmin Santos, Mikaelly, and Cabral have shared their thoughts about their “belfies,” which is key to winning the competition.

“It will be my bet to win the competition and be the new Miss BumBum UK,” Santos said, per the publication.

“I get a lot of private messages asking how I take care of my body and especially my butt,” Mikaelly also shared.

Queen Elizabeth II To Be Laid To Rest At Windsor Castle

In the meantime, Brits are still mourning the demised queen, who is the longest-serving royal in the history of Britain’s monarchy. Many have braved the rain which has fallen over the past few days, besieging Buckingham Palace to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, who died at age 96 on Thursday.

Many brought bouquets, which they laid outside the gates of the iconic building. Mourners also rallied to pay respect outside other royal households such as Windsor Castle, Hillsborough Castle, Sandringham Estate, and Balmoral in the Scottish Highlands, where the queen died.

The queen will be buried on September 19 at the royal vault in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, just like her father, King George VI, and her mother, Queen Elizabeth-The Queen Mother, and her husband, Prince Philip.
