Christopher Pike’s Midnight Club is coming to Netflix with contemporary horror master Mike Flanagan helming the series. The series take place at Brightcliffe Hospice, a care center for terminally ill teenagers to live the rest of their lives on their own accord. Ilonka (Netflix’s #BlackAF’s Iman Benson) is a young girl who finds herself learning she has thyroid cancer and a slim chance of coming out alive. As she joins the ranks of Brightcliffe, she will soon learn the hospice comes with its own unique history.

Every night at the stroke of midnight, eight of the teenage Brightcliffe residents sneak into the library to tell each other ghost stories–“making ghosts” as they call it., in hopes of finding signs of life after death. They call themselves the Midnight Club.

One night they make a pact that the first one to succumb to their disease is responsible for communicating with the others from beyond the grave. After one of them dies, bizarre occurrences begin. You can check out the first trailer below.

Benson, Adia (Cheri), Igby Rigney (Kevin), Annarah Cymone (Sandra), Aya Furukawa (Natsuki), Ruth Codd (Anya), Sauriyan Sapkota (Amesh), and Chris Sumpter (Spencer) play the eight members of the Club. Fans might remember Rigney and Cymone who previously starred in Midnight Mass, and there are other familiar faces from Flanagan and Macy’s past works that come around again. Haunting alumni and Midnight Mass alumni Rahul Kohli, Zach Gilford, and Samantha Sloyan will have small roles in the series.

The ten-episode series premieres on Netflix on October 7, but will have its world premiere the day before at this year’s New York Comic-Con.
