Khloé Kardashian has opened up about the circumstances surrounding the arrival of her second child with ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson. Since the former couple sparked romance rumors in 2016 and welcomed their first child — True — together, their lives have been shrouded in drama.
One of the biggest scandals trailing their on/off relationship was a cheating allegation that broke two days before their daughter was born. With the other cheating scandals that broke after that, many people were shocked when news broke that the couple was having another baby together.
Khloé Kardashian Has Heart-Wrenching Experience Welcoming Second Child With Tristan Thompson
For those who follow The Kardashians, it is not news that the third Kardashian daughter welcomed her second child — a boy — with Thompson via a surrogate. The reality star has often spoken honestly about her and her ex’s inborn desire to share a big family.
One month after welcoming their baby, Kardashian talked about her experience as a second-time mom. In a teaser that dropped on Twitter for the second season of Hulu’s “The Kardashians,” the 38-year-old admitted it had been “a difficult time” coming to terms with Thompson’s unfaithfulness when they were expecting their baby boy.
It was a tumultuous time when news broke last December that the Canadian-American professional basketball player had cheated on Kardashian with fitness instructor Maralee Nichols — who was also pregnant with his child.
After initially denying the allegations, Thompson later admitted to his infidelity in a statement published on his Instagram Story in January, which included an apology to Kardashian. Per the clip, the Good American co-founder began:
“There is something that I’m ready to talk about. Tristan and I are having another baby. It’s supposed to be a really exciting time, and it’s just a different experience.”

Even though she was looking forward to her baby’s arrival, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashian” star was visibly distraught over the state of her personal life and the circumstances surrounding Thompson’s continued betrayal.
The mother-of-two was joined by her mother, Kris Jenner, who remarked that “it’s hard to watch her (Khloe) in pain.” At the end of the clip, the “Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami” star expressed that, even though the experience was heart-wrenching, it was the beginning of “something positive and happy and beautiful.”
In the months following their split, one of Kardashian’s closest pals, Malika Haqq, appeared in an episode of Stitcher’s “Reality With the King” podcast, where she praised her friend for keeping her head up amid all the drama.
The Blast shared that the 39-year-old claimed that the scandals took a negative toll on Kardashian, making her first days with her newborn difficult. Haqq acknowledged that even though her longtime friend was not the “first woman ever to endure adversity in a relationship,” there were “some glory times that are meant just to be glory times that have been stripped from her, and that’s really sad.”

The “Hollywood Divas” alum did not end the interview until she applauded Kardashian for being one of the strongest people she knew. She said, “She (Kardashian) really is one of the strongest people I know because she’s got a good head on her shoulders. Faith is something else, and she’s got a great deal of it. I’ll tell you that much.” Haqq also praised her friend for putting her kids first.

Although she has not spoken often about her life as a mom of two, Kardashian could not be happier about her new phase. Per a report from The Blast in August, when the American socialite was asked, “How is being a mom of two?” she replied, “I know it’s cliché, but I love everything, even the hard parts.”
She added that besides getting challenged by her kids, it was also “an honor and a gift” being able to “shape little people into really incredible big people.” It was a role that she took seriously, especially today, where kids easily access different types of information. Kardashian admitted, “It’s super scary, but I take my job very seriously. I love it so much.”
