Aaron Rodgers Implies The Jumbotron Helped The Packers Beat The Buccaneers

In one of the most anticipated NFL games of the week, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers beat out Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Many think yesterday’s game could have been the last time fans witnessed Rodgers and Brady play one another as rumors suggest Brady will re-retire after this season.

After the game ended, the Green Bay Packers quarterback is suggesting that the jumbotron actually helped them beat the Bucs.

Did the Jumbotron Help the Packers Beat the Bucs?

In a nail-biting finish, Tom Brady threw a touchdown pass to wide reciever Russell Gage with just 14 seconds of the game, making the Bucs only down by two points. In order to attempt a tie and go into overtime, the Bucs had to go for a two-point conversion, but due to a delay-of-game penalty, the Bucs were sent back five yards.

The Packers were able to stop the Bucs from scoring the two-point conversion, resulting in Aaron Rodgers and the Packers beating out Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. However, Aaron Rodgers is implying the jumbotron actually helped them win.

During a post-game interview, Rodgers was asked about the delay of game penalty, to which Rodgers said, “Well they showed it on the previous play, too. It was a delay on both plays.”

He continued, “Sometimes you see things in the game. Sometimes the Jumbotron shows things they probably shouldn’t show, even at home. I saw something, (and) I just passed on the information.”

The Buccaneers were not penalized for delay of game on their touchdown (the previous play that Rodgers referred to in the interview). Rodgers apparently noticed the uncalled delay of game penalty and told another team official or spoke directly with the officiating crew regarding the missed call.

The delay of game penalty that was called on the two-point conversion attempt was obvious from the TV broadcast, so it’s unclear if Rodgers had any influence on the call or not.

Tom Brady Speaks Out After Loss to Packers

After losing to the Green Bay Packers, Tom Brady spoke out during his post-game conference, saying they did not play their best and made too many mistakes.

“Just too many mistakes,” the 45-year-old quarterback said. “It looked to me [like] we had a chance to make a lot of plays and we didn’t. Doesn’t matter really the guys that were in there. Some of the guys did a great job with their opportunities, and we just gotta keep doing it.

“So, we’re 2-1, there’s a lot of football left. We’ll keep working at it,” he continued. “It doesn’t get easier next week going up against the Chiefs. But no one feels sorry for us, nor should we. We just have to go back to work.”

Brady did not mention the jumbotron comment that Rodgers made.

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers face the New England Patriots on Sunday, while Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will take on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday Night Football.
