There seems an air of mystery alive and well in New York!

Bravo’s fan favorite and extremely successful series “Real Housewives of New York” has been making headlines in 2022 for major reasons! Earlier this spring, The Blast shared news concerning big developments within the big apple and a major facelift for the series, which has been on the air since 2008.

According to our report, Bravo’s legendary Andy Cohen revealed the news and shared further details in an interview with Variety.

Cohen told the publication, “You know we’re at a crossroads with ‘RHONY,’ we’ve spent a lot of time figuring out where to go. And the plan we’ve come up with, I think, is a real gift to the fans.”

The ‘plan’ Cohen referred to is to bring multiple new faces to the cast in an attempt to fulfill audience requests for a more diverse selection of Housewives. He also mentioned the show would be “rebooted.”

Speculation surrounding the returning cast members of the show has frequently revolved around Leah McSweeney, who joined the cast during the series’ twelfth season.

The “Married To The Mob” founder caught fans’ attention on social media when she referred to herself as a “former housewife” on TikTok.

The 40-year-old “Chaos Theory: Finding Meaning In The Madness, One Bad Decision At A Time” author has been anything but tight-lipped when discussing her fate on the series.

While promoting her memoir early this spring, McSweeney stopped by the “We Should Talk” podcast (per People), where she revealed everything she knew at the time about returning for future ‘RHONY’ seasons.

“I think I’m not coming back,” she began. “It’s just the better way of thinking about it.”

McSweeney went into further detail and revealed a few struggles she experienced while waiting for official confirmation regarding her return.

“I mean look, I have to see if they offer me to go back, I have to see who’s on it and which show it is, or whatever…, you know I can’t think the what if,” she candidly concluded. (via The Blast)

Several months after our May report, it looks as if McSweeney’s exact fate still hasn’t been sealed.

She inspired several eye-brow-raising reactions on social media recently after referring to herself as a “former housewife.”

Bravo fan account Queens Of Bravo later shared a tweet on September 23rd proclaiming McSweeney was “OUT” of the cast.

The account also shared the proclamation TikTok in question. In it, McSweeney gives her take on the “Five things I would never do” trend, wherein users reveal the top five choices they would never make in their profession.

The tweet’s comment section contained many celebratory comments and GIFs.

However, perhaps both McSweeney lovers and haters should put the breaks on sharing reactions just yet!

According to Page Six, McSweeney took to her Instagram stories to clear the air surrounding her previous TikTok in an attempt to put an end to the speculation.

“OK, I wasn’t trying to cause a commotion…” she began, “I wasn’t trying to make some major announcement saying I’m a ‘former Housewife’ of New York. The show hasn’t been on, or it hasn’t filmed in a year in a half,” she explained, “So why would I call myself a ‘Housewife?’ Just saying ‘former,’ it’s not a big deal.”

McSweeney went on to reveal where Bravo devotees can find her during ‘RHONY’s hiatus.

“I’m on ‘The Ultimate Girls Trip [season 3] and I’ll be at BravoCon, and I can’t wait to see everybody there…”

The outlet also reported BravoCon would be on October 14th!
