Various news channels around the world recently confirmed the update, and as expected, many look forward to seeing her perform, including the reputable record executive Dr. Dre.

Dre, who performed at this year’s Super Bowl alongside Eminem, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, was all about praises for Rihanna as he spoke with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1. According to Variety’s report, he had just heard about the brilliant songstress’ feature on the Halftime Show and expressed his anticipation for want was to come. In his words:

“I actually just got the news that Rihanna’s going to do [the Halftime Show], and I’m a super fan of Rihanna. I can’t wait to see what she’s going to do.”

It is worth knowing that Rihanna hinted not long ago using a photo of an NFL-branded football on her Instagram, confirming to the world that she would headline the annual program. Not long after, her signed label, Roc Nation, officially verified their involvement as the “strategic entertainment advisors of Rihanna’s live performance.”

Dre further expressed, regarding his fascination with the 34-year-old, “I just like her and what she does and her get down and how she approaches her artistry and the whole nine. It’s fantastic.” He also mentioned that she had the chance to “really blow us away” before noting, “I know we set the bar extremely high.”

The American rapper gave a few tips to the future headliner ahead of her performance, advising that she should surround herself with the “right creative people” and ensure to have fun. He believed that was all it took before recounting his 2022 Super Bowl performance, where he was “extremely nervous” but ultimately followed his own advice.

“All of these people came through for me,” Dre shared. “And everybody was extremely enthusiastic about the show. We had a good time, although it’s a lot of things and a lot of people you have to depend on.” He added that it was “an extreme amount of pressure” but was fun at the same time. And after everything, he got goosebumps, especially from the reactions he got from the show and being able to do it with friends.

Before speculations arose about Rihanna’s participation in the upcoming Super Bowl program, fans believed the famed Taylor Swift would be the headliner. Still, they were disappointed when it was announced that she would not be performing.

Nevertheless, as The Blast reported, Rihanna had several talks with the NFL and Roc Nation about headlining the Halftime show. TMZ confirmed the news, revealing that “sources with direct knowledge” mentioned, “There have been multiple discussions with Rihanna and her team.”

However, it was not certain if she would be the headliner, but insiders disclosed that the NFL might announce who they chose by the beginning of the week. In addition, the news outlet reported that “there have also been discussions with another performer,” implying that there may be two performers on stage, like in the 2020 Shakira and Jennifer Lopez Halftime performance.

Around the period of this year’s Super Bowl Halftime show, The Blast shared that during a press conference interview, Dre referred back to his advice to fellow performers Snoop Dogg and Eminem against exposing themselves indecently while on stage. He stated:

“I had to talk Snoop and Eminem out of pulling their penises out. Especially Eminem.” He also spoke about the program, maintaining that their performance would “open more doors for hip-hop artists in the future.”

Furthermore, the successful entrepreneur believed that the rappers’ features would ensure the NFL understood that including hip-hop in the event should have happened “a long time ago.”

It felt “crazy” to him that it took so long for their recognition; even so, he promised to do a “fantastic job” that was so significant that no one would deny them “anymore in the future.” Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg assured the viewers that there would be no surprises or wardrobe malfunctions but joked about the possibility of not putting on a shirt amid the show.
