When a book is adapted into a movie, the cast doesn’t always match perfectly to what you imagined while reading the book. So we used AI to bring Twilight characters to life based on how they’re described in the books.

Using Artbreeder, we basically morphed together some existing faces that resemble the character and then added specific traits described in the book. Here are the Twilight book characters, plus their movie counterparts for comparison:

1. Here’s Bella Swan based on how she’s described by Stephenie Meyer:

Though she’s not described much in the books, Stephenie Meyer wrote a description of how she pictures Bella on her website. Some key traits: “Fair-skinned,” “long, straight, dark brown hair,” “chocolate brown eyes,” “face is heart-shaped […] with a widow’s peak,” “large, wide-spaced eyes, prominent cheekbones, a thin nose,” “a narrow jaw with a pointed chin,” and “lips […] a bit too full for her jaw line.”
