MacKenzie Scott is saying goodbye to another marriage! Scott is known for being a philanthropist, and the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos recently filed for divorce from her second husband.

As you might know, Scott and Bezos parted ways in a controversial divorce after 26 years of marriage, and she found love again in the arms of school teacher Dan Jewett, but it seems the second time wasn’t a charm.

MacKenzie Scott Divorces For The Second Time!

According to The New York Times, Scott filed for divorce from Jewett less than two years after they got married. The philanthropist, who is among the top ten richest women, filed the petition on Monday at the King County Superior Court in Washington State.

Court documents retrieved showed that Scott asked that any division of property be laid out in a separate contract. Jewett agreed to the deal and also didn’t contest the divorce, meaning their divorce proceedings would probably go smoothly.

The novelist, who owns a 4% stake in Amazon, walked down the aisle with Jewett in 2021, about a year after her divorce from the notorious entrepreneur was finalized. They got married in March 2021, with the former high school chemistry teacher sharing the announcement in a joint Giving Pledge letter published on Scott’s Medium account.

“I am married to one of the most generous and kind people I know — and joining her in a commitment to pass on an enormous financial wealth to serve others,” Jewett wrote. “I look forward to the growth and learning I have ahead as a part of this undertaking with MacKenzie.”

Indeed, Scott and the former educator, who taught at the Seattle Private School Lakeside School, fulfilled their vows of passing on their wealth. The philanthropist has given away more than $12 billion of the $62 billion she earned as part of the divorce.

Were There Signs Of Doom With The Couple?

Scott and Jewett partnered to give billions of dollars to worthy causes, even continuing their pledge last month when two properties worth $55 million were donated to the California Community Foundation as part of their affordable housing project.

However, it was reported that in recent donations, Scott was the only name listed as a donor. Previously, organizations thanked both Scott and Jewett, but that’s not the case anymore.

Also raising eyebrows is the absence of his pledge on the Giving Pledge website. Per the publication just last week, Jewett’s version of his pledge and a picture of him and Scott were attached on the website. However, now, only the 52-year-old’s picture and the statement remain on the webpage.

A friend of Jewett told the New York Times that he and Scott seemed like the perfect match as he wasn’t one to be preoccupied with amassing wealth. “He’s the perfect person to end up with this money to give away — no sense of greed at all,” the source said.

Unfortunately, it seems that wasn’t enough to sustain their love.

Bezos Still Going Strong With Girlfriend Lauren Sanchez

While Scott’s second attempt at love didn’t end well, the reverse seems to be the case for her ex-husband Bezos. The former Amazon CEO is going strong with his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez, who he became public with shortly after his split from Scott.

The lovebirds made headlines in November after the billionaire joked with actor Leonardo DiCaprio about marking his territory. During an appearance at the star-studded Art Gala in Los Angeles, the former TV host was seen fawning over the “Titanic” actor, and her boyfriend wasn’t too pleased.

In a tweet after the encounter, Bezos shared a picture of him shirtless, standing next to a warning that read, “Danger! Steep cliff, fatal drop.” He captioned the photo with a warning to DiCaprio, writing, “Leo, come over here, I want to show you something…”

The viral moment didn’t in any way affect the couple who was seen just last week having a matchy-matchy moment at a party hosted by Anna Wintour, per People Magazine.
