On Thursday, Rose took to Facebook to post gory images of an animal she killed during a hunt and smiled at the camera as she posed for the picture. In her hands, she held the rifle used to shoot and kill the animal.

“So this morning, I set out for a solo predator hunt for a fall black bear however I got the opportunity to take another predator wolf pup 2022 was a great feeling to text my man and say I just smoked a wolf pup. #firstwolf #onelesspredatorMT,” she captioned the post per TMZ.

While the huntress mistakenly believed that her kill was a young wolf, other Facebook users quickly pointed out that it was a husky that had somehow escaped from its owners and ended up in the woods.

Per the publication, the shocking killing reportedly occurred in Flathead County, Montana, and the local sheriff’s office, animal control, and fish and game departments have all opened investigations into it.

Rose’s post drew the ire of social media users, who were quick to slam her for not being careful during her hunt.

One user wrote, “Even if it was a hybrid, it could have been someone’s pet! She needs to get her eyes checked. Also she has no remorse. It’s sick. It’s clearly a dog. I feel bad for the owners who were missing it.”

Another one wrote, “If a [sic] animal comes after you aggressively you wouldn’t skin it and post it. If anything, I would be calling the DNR to report that I have been attacked or was about to be attacked by an animal. This is disgusting, and now I’m questioning if I need to put orange vests on all my pets.”

One more user penned, “I’m willing to bet she didn’t bother to identify the animal before she shot it. Also, how stupid can one be to skin the animal with out realizing it’s a dog and then take pictures. This is lack of Intelligence and common sense.”

Other Husky Pups Were On The Loose

Per New York Post, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office released a statement confirming that the dog was indeed a stray that found itself in the woods. According to the statement, someone had phoned their office and said they had picked up “many husky and shepherd mix dogs” near Doris Creek in the Flathead National Forest.

The anonymous individual also informed the department that one of the dogs “may have been shot,” seemingly referencing the dog which Rose had killed and skinned during her hunts.

“The parties were able to pick up 11 dogs which were turned over to Animal Control and taken to the animal shelter,” a statement read. “During this investigation, we were advised through Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks that one of the dogs may have been shot.”

After receiving massive backlash for her actions, Rose once again took to Facebook to defend herself, saying she had no idea that the animal was a husky.

“I purchased my wolf tag prior to leaving for a bear hunt in the event I ran into a wolf in which I came to en [sic] encounter with what I thought could be a hybrid during this time my safety was top priority this animal was growling howling and coming at me like it was going to eat me,” she wrote per New York Post.

“Yes, I made a mistake because I did think it was a hybrid wolf pup,” she wrote, before adding that she was only “human.”

Although animal lovers have called for her to be charged for the death of the husky, it is still unclear if the authorities will take any legal actions against Rose.
