Millie Bobby Brown delivers a spot-on impression of her Stranger Things co-star Winona Ryder. Brown will return to her iconic role as Eleven in the Netflix series in just under two weeks for the first time since 2019. Eleven, now living with the Byers family in California following the emotional finale of season 3, will have to deal with fitting in at her school while also navigating life without the telekinetic powers she gained through dangerous experiments. With a new threat from the Upside Down, Eleven will likely be thrust into the midst of another perilous conflict.

Ryder’s character, Joyce Byers, has acted as a motherly figure to Eleven ever since the first season of the series. Joyce comforted Eleven as she tried to connect with Joyce’s son Will (Noah Schnapp) in the void between their world and the Upside Down. While Jim Hopper (David Harbour) remained Eleven’s main caretaker between seasons 2 and 3, the supposed death of Hopper led Joyce to taking Eleven in with her family before making the move to California. Thus, there’s little doubt that this close relationship between Eleven and Joyce has had an effect on both Brown and Ryder.

Brown has shown off the full effect of their closeness by providing a spot-on impression of Ryder. On The Tonight Show, Brown was asked by Jimmy Fallon if she had any good impressions. Brown shared that she and Schnapp often do a back-and-forth impression of Will and Joyce from Stranger Things season 1, when Will was calling out to Joyce and Joyce was trying her best to respond. Brown’s voice morphed into Ryder’s as she exclaimed “Come on, baby, I’m here. I am coming to find you, honey.” The actress’ impressive act was met with loud applause from Fallon and his audience, an appropriate response to Brown’s efforts. While the impression is offered all in good fun, it could be evidence of the amount of time Brown and Ryder have spent together on set and filming. With Joyce taking on the parental role in Eleven’s life, it’s easy to imagine the two of them sharing more scenes together in the upcoming season. Brown, however, is also a very talented actress, and this could simply be evidence of that and the fun she has joking with her co-star and best friend. Nevertheless, the impression is very accurate and also nostalgic to the early days of the show.

As Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 comes closer and closer, anticipation continues to rise. The delays they experienced due to the COVID-19 pandemic set the season’s schedule off course and has kept audiences even hungrier for the newest installment. The two volumes and different release dates as opposed to the usual full-season drop will prove to be quite a change, but likely an exciting one that will keep the anticipation for the Netflix series alive. The series continues to keep much of its secrets under lock and key, though viewers are still another day closer to seeing what’s waiting for them in Stranger Things 4.
