Camila Cabello Announced She’s Joining ‘The Voice’ As A Coach This Fall

Camila Cabello has done a lot of growing up since her rise to fame as a contestant on the 2012 “X-Factor” show. Since then, she’s grown by leaps and bounds, creating top charting songs and winning awards.

The “Bam Bam” singer recently announced that she’d be joining the NBC singing competition series, “The Voice” as a judge alongside Blake Shelton, John Legend, and Gwen Stefani for its 22nd season.

This, however, will be the first time she’ll be a coach, but if anything, she’s more than ready for it.

Read on for more details.

On Sunday, the “Havana” hitmaker announced this news by dueting a TikTok, which Shelton originally posted, two days before and was captioned, “#duet this if you’re going to be a coach on #TheVoice this fall.”

Stefani and Legend had already dueted the video before Cabello did, each singing a line from “Grace Kelly.”

“See you this fall #TheVoice,” the “Cinderella” star captioned.

‘The Voice’ reposted the video on their official Instagram with a caption, “we can’t wait.”

Although the 25-year-old singer had never been a coach before, she appeared briefly on the show last year, helping Legend’s team as a part-time advisor.

“Camila has all the experience she needs to be the perfect advisor for our team,” Legend told Extra last August. “She has navigated a singing competition before and done very well on it.”

Legend concluded, “She was part of a group, and in this battle setting, where the artists are dueting with each other, that’s a very important skill to have. And obviously, she’s an incredibly successful artist and performer in her own right, and all the things she’s learned throughout these years are going to be so important for our team.”

She Joined ‘X-Factor’ Because Of Her Love For Harry Styles

The “Havana” star got her breakthrough after contesting in the US version of the NBC singing competition, “X-Factor.” Following her recruitment into Fifth Harmony, the girl group eventually came third.

However, recently speaking to “Carpool Karaoke,” she revealed that she was spurred into auditioning because of her love for Harry Styles.

“I was like, ‘Well, One Direction will be at X Factor,'” she told the host at the time. “I don’t know if they’ll be at The Voice, so let me audition for X Factor.”

Cabello continued, “Literally, this is really embarrassing, and I can only say this because obviously that was like, 10 years ago, but I literally was like, ‘I’m auditioning for X Factor because I will marry Harry Styles. Like, I will.’ I really believed that at the time.”

Although the marriage didn’t happen, the audition changed her life forever.

She Exited ‘Fifth Harmony’ In 2016

In 2016, the group announced Cabello’s intent to leave the girl group via their social media.

In a statement released on Twitter, they confirmed her departure and wrote other goodwill wishes.

“The group will continue as a quartet,” the statement says, “We are four strong, committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony as well as our solo endeavors.”

‘PsychoFreak’ Is About Her Departure From The ‘Fifth Harmony’

The “Havana” star recently disclosed that one of her songs on her new album, “Familia,” is about the departure from her girl group.

In her “PsychoFreak,” collaboration with Willow Smith, she sings, “Everybody says they miss the old me / I been on this ride since I was 15 / I don’t blame the girls for how it went down, down.”

She confirmed to Reuters that those lyrics referred to the “Fifth Harmony” members and the struggles she faced after.

“That song is basically about anxiety and all of the different things that have made up, like, my journey with anxiety and starting off really young in the industry,” she explained.

While she doesn’t speak so often about her former groupmates, she claims that there’s no bad blood.

“We have been, like, supportive of each other through, like, DMs and stuff,” she told the news agency. “I’m, like, in a really good place with them.”
