Brits plan to make the most of UK beauty spots – before global warming takes hold

Nearly three-quarters of Brits are concerned that iconic UK beauty spots such as Durdle Door and Sherwood Forest could soon be permanently damaged – due to the effects of global warming.

Almost half (44%), of the 2,000 adults polled, are determined to speed up their plans to visit more UK landmarks, before climate change decimates them.

The top locations Brits would like to see in all their glory include Loch Ness, Lake Windermere in the Lake District, Snowdon, and St. Austell in Cornwall.

But a third of Brits say they have already noticed changes to some of their favourite beauty spots over years of visiting, due to the impact of climate change.

And one in five (18%) believe some UK areas of natural beauty are already critically damaged due to a warming planet.

The research was commissioned by Runners Need and Cotswold Outdoor, as part of its #SaveOurOutdoors campaign, highlighting the importance of protecting the outdoors we treasure so much here in the UK.
