Baseball match descends into 50-man brawl as bodies fly everywhere and fans get involved

A heated baseball match in South America descended into chaos after a huge brawl between both sets of players.

The incident happened during a Winter League match between Venezuelan sides Caracas and La Guaria and even saw fans get involved in the melee.

Footage of the shocking brawl has resurfaced on social media and shows one player being angrily held back by his teammates, before breaking free and running towards the two sets of players.

Screams can be heard from the stand as the violent scenes break out on the pitch before moving towards the dugout, with multiple separate fights taking place.

The player who initially started the brawl was Felix Perez, who was knocked to the ground from a punch by opponent and ex-Major League Baseball catcher Hector Sanchez, with as many as 50 players and coaches getting involved.

As the scrap continues, the players make their ways down a set of stairs and into one of the pitchside dugouts with several seemingly in a heap on the floor.

The chaos also continues in the stands as one spectator is seen throwing a drink onto the field before being pulled away by his partner.

The incident is believed to have taken place in 2018 with the two teams having a long-term rivalry on and off the pitch, with four players ejected from the match – that La Guaira won 6-2.

Baseball fans still criticised the video and suggested players must start behaving more, with @nancyfranco51LA writing: "You can't keep doing this. It is not a good example for kids who love this sport."

Those comments were echoed by @librepe16367622, who wrote: "What a shame! This is not baseball."
