Shredded Ricky Hatton astounds fans on boxing return after four-stone weight loss
Boxing fans have applauded Ricky Hatton after he weighed in for his exhibition bout against Marco Antonio Barrera on Friday afternoon.
The Hitman stepped on the scales as he started his training for the bout – and he came in at 15st 4lbs. However, Hatton now tipped the scales at 11st 5.5lbs as the hard work and training has appeared to have paid off.
Hatton was famous for ballooning between fights, before shedding the weight when it came time to step into the ring, and while enjoying retirement, the Hitman has sported a fuller physique. But the Mancunian quickly proved the doubters wrong he could shed the pounds.

One fan tweeted: "No one can get big and lose weight like this man! I'm not surprised!"
"The shape of him! Brings back good memories of watching him fight this #hitman," a second added. While a third tweeted: "He’s in better shape now than he was during some of his career. Unreal!"
And a fourth added: "Actual insane transformation like, puts my 28-year-old gut to shame!"

"I always made it hard for myself when I was in my prime, to be honest with you, things haven’t changed now that I’m 44 years of age, but it’s been so good for my well-being,” Hatton told talkSPORT.
“It’s given me a target and a goal and something to set me sights towards. The feedback I’ve got from so many people saying, ‘Ricky, you’ve inspired me to get my weight off’…
“People have been writing letters and getting in touch and saying, ‘Ricky how you’ve inspired us to see where you were 18 months ago’. And it was well documented where I was, I was in a very bad place… so, it’s made me decided to make a lifestyle change.
“I’m 44 now, I can’t keep dropping weight like I have been doing, so this is Ricky Hatton for good as far as I’m concerned.”
Hatton and Barrera are set to square off at the AO Arena in Manchester on Saturday evening.
