Ricky Hatton delivered a truly unforgettable ring walk featuring a zimmer frame and two nurses on his way to fighting Marco Antonio Barrera.

The British boxing legend made his long awaited return to boxing ten years after his final loss to Vyacheslav Senchenko in 2012. All eyes were on the Hitman, who managed to shift four stone in preparation for his bout against the Mexican.

As predicted, Hatton strolled to the ring while Manchester City anthem Blue Moon blasted from the AO Arena speakers. However, the best bit off his entrance came when he initially showed his face to the crowd.

Flanked by two nurses, Hatton initially staggered out while leaning on a zimmer frame. Head down, hood up, someone tuning in without knowing what the event was, would've thought a senior fan had found themselves to the ramp.

Alas, it was Hatton all along, who quickly cast the frame aside and bowled his way to the ring with the very swagger that made boxing fans fall in love with him. Hatton's recent journey in preparation for the bout has inspired thousands of people.

"I always made it hard for myself when I was in my prime, to be honest with you, things haven’t changed now that I’m 44 years of age, but it’s been so good for my well-being,” Hatton told talkSPORT.

“It’s given me a target and a goal and something to set me sights towards. The feedback I’ve got from so many people saying, ‘Ricky, you’ve inspired me to get my weight off’…

“People have been writing letters and getting in touch and saying, ‘Ricky how you’ve inspired us to see where you were 18 months ago’. And it was well documented where I was, I was in a very bad place… so, it’s made me decided to make a lifestyle change.

“I’m 44 now, I can’t keep dropping weight like I have been doing, so this is Ricky Hatton for good as far as I’m concerned.”
