I’m A Celeb Ant and Dec make ‘historic announcement’ as fans spot way Matt avoided trial

I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly had big news to share this week, as they made a "historic announcement".

The presenters were leading into the next Bushtucker Trial on Tuesday (November 15), which featured Chris Moyles, Babatunde Aleshe and Boy George.

But first they teased in the studio: "We've got a historic announcement now."

Of course, it was all to do with the fact that Matt Hancock had miraculously avoided the public vote, after being voted in for every single trial since his entrance into the jungle.

Dec said: "Right, time to make a historic announcement now. Because for the first time in almost a week, Matt Hancock is not doing the Bushtucker Trial!"

With a whoop from the audience, Ant added: "That meant it was the turn of three new faces in the shape of George, Baba and Chris."

But fans have figured out just how he avoided it – by pretending he's enjoying every second.

One eagle-eyed fan said on social media: "We all know Matt Hancock just played us tho? By saying he was enjoying it, he knew we would stop, politician to the hilt."

As someone else agreed: "Matt Hancock is smart, make the public think he's enjoying the trials and then they won't vote for him. It'll be good to see others do it!"

A third fan penned: "Do you hear that people? Matt Hancock is enjoying himself whilst doing these trials so all your voting has been for nothing… gutted you sad lot."

While a fourth begged: "PLEASE can we stop voting for Matt Hancock to do all the trials. He’s not bothered by them and he’s actually good at them. I also think he’s enjoying the attention. Pick someone else. It’s just The Matt Hancock Show."

It appears the public were doing the camp a service, however, as George, Babatunde and Chris only managed to bring back a measly three out of 11 stars for camp.

Matt, on the other hand, has managed a full house in the past, and scooped seven out of 11 in Monday's trial, which involved him being buried underground in a snake pit.

Instead, he spent the morning running around camp until Jill feared he would collapse – promising she wouldn't be up for giving him mouth-to-mouth.

Charlene, meanwhile, confessed it's "become like sport" to her trying to get political answers out of Hancock.

"What he'll answer, what he won't."
