‘Overwhelmed’ A Place In The Sun’s Jonnie Irwin escapes for ‘headspace’ after diagnosis

A Place In The Sun presenter Jonnie Irwin has spoken out following the news that he has terminal cancer.

The 48-year-old who presents the popular Channel 4 show and BBC's Escape To The Country, told Hello! magazine that his lung cancer has now spread to his brain.

Following the devastating announcement where he told the publication he's not sure "how long I have left", Jonnie took Instagram to reveal that he "escaped to the country" as he needed some time.

Posting a picture of himself standing in front of sheep and another snap walking his dog, he penned: "Overwhelmed by your kind messages, not had the chance to read them all yet but I assure you I will.
