Everyone loves seeing an unknown player take centre stage at the World Cup and become an overnight star – no doubt leading to a massive transfer the following window.

There have been the likes of James Rodriguez, Lucas Torreira, Keylor Navas, Benjamin Pavard and Daley Blind, all making mega-money moves soon after lighting up the biggest football tournament there is on the planet. And this year promises even more, whose transfer values could shoot through the roof, say Saxo.

While fees are already totting up millions by the day it seems, these players could command mega numbers if they look to leave their respective clubs. All they need is a platform to showcase their skills – Qatar.

Edson Alvarez

After a long summer where Alvarez was top of many shopping lists, the Mexico international ended up staying put – against his wishes – despite trying to force through a move to Chelsea on Deadline Day. Manchester United and Newcastle have also been interested in the midfielder, whose value currently stands at £27million.

But after already receiving a £43m bid from Chelsea, that number could shoot up very quickly over the next few weeks if Mexico can put in a decent tournament.

Gabriel Martinelli

This is one player many fans will already know after a barnstorming campaign with Arsenal – who sit top of the Premier League. Martinelli was a somewhat surprise inclusion in the Brazil squad, still, especially considering that the more senior Roberto Firmino missed out.

Nevertheless, Tite's wildcard choice could be the difference with Brazil one of the favourites to win the tournament – 20 years after their last World Cup victory. Martinelli is yet to sign a new contract at the Emirates, either, while bids for the forward would no doubt come in greater than his current £36m value.

Jeremy Doku

It was not long ago when Liverpool were linked with Doku, who is currently valued at £18m at Rennes. While the winger has yet to light up Ligue 1 after just three league goals in three seasons, big things are still expected of the 20-year-old where he could light up the tournament with Belgium.

Roberto Martinez has some huge attacking talents such as Kevin de Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku but attentions are turning to their new generation where Doku could lead the Red Devils to glory – a step further than their current golden generation.

Jude Bellingham

Again, nearly every football fan is aware of who Bellingham is – who has already been tipped as one of the best youngsters in the game. Borussia Dortmund know they might not be able to keep hold of the midfielder this summer and his value already stands at £87.5m.

However, a fine tournament for England – where he is expected to be deployed alongside Declan Rice – and that valuation will skyrocket with bids already expected to be tabled this summer reaching nine figures.

Yunus Musah

The United States have plenty of exciting talents being produced right now but one that might catch the eye is Musah, who the Yanks will be counting on to help them get out of the ground stage.

Currently valued at a bargain £17.5m, that figure will no doubt go through the roof over the next few years – potentially this month if the Valencia star hits the headlines. The central midfielder, 19, is full of guile and is not afraid to strut his stuff while also being able to operate on the wings and already has 19 caps to his name and even represented England Under-18s.
