This Morning expert warns 90% of Black Friday deals are ‘cheaper at other times of year’
This Morning scam buster Alexis Conran has warned shoppers to be cautious this Black Friday as they risk being ripped off by greedy retailers.
The presenter, 50, appeared on Wednesday's episode (November 16) of the ITV show alongside hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield to highlight the risks of the annual shopping event.
Describing Black Friday as a "well-known psychological ploy", Alexis said research has revealed that "around 90%" of Black Friday items have been "cheaper at other times of the year".

Alexis said: "We can be quite easily manipulated.
"A lot of research has been done on Black Friday and about 90% of items offered have been cheaper at other times of the year."
Alexis then listed some examples, warning that retailers can hike the price of items prior to Black Friday so they "can drop it down again" after the event.
He said they do this "so you think you're getting a drop in price" – though shoppers can often end up paying more than they would have paid for the same item months prior.
Alexis later added: "You start acting on instinct rather than on intellect.
"You start doing things like 'what do I want? and what do I need?' and actually spending your money on things that you don't actually need or want – only because you think you're getting a good deal."
Black Friday will kick off this year on Friday, November 25.
Alexis also warned viewers to be cautious of scammers this time of year, as he revealed millions of pounds is lost to scam artists every Black Friday.
His caution followed show host Holly Willoughby confirming she had previously been "caught" by a fake delivery text scam.
This Morning airs from 10am on weekdays on ITV.
