Simon Jordan mocks Calvert-Lewin’s ‘handbag’ GQ cover as he calls out Lampard’s Everton

Simon Jordan has goaded Premier League ace Dominic Calvert-Lewin's 'handbag' on his GQ cover – and fans have hit back at the radio host.

The talkSPORT presenter went in at the striker, who over the summer featured on the front of the men’s magazine.

But Jordan has mocked the star for posing for the publication, saying on his show with Jim White: “If Frank Lampard was the answer, I am not entirely sure what the question was. They got themselves out of jail at the last knocking at the end of last season, and they have started this season inauspiciously again.

“When you’re signing players that Everton don’t want – and I know Brighton are a very good side – in Neal Maupay, and you’re taking Dwight McNeil from a relegated Burnley, then you got your centre-forward on the front-page of GQ magazine holding a handbag, what do you expect?”

But fans have taken issue with Jordan’s words regarding Calvert-Lewin’s magazine feature, with many calling out the pundit and asking how the handbag is relevant.

Simon Jordan has been criticised for bringing up the hangbags

One wrote: “DCL has come out and said how much he struggled with his mental health last season and Simon Jordan ridiculing him for his fashion choices is ridiculous. How does what clothes he wears affect his football ability?”

Another blasted: “Why are so many men rattled by DCL being into fashion lmfao you just can't stand knowing you couldn't pull it off.”

A third blasted: “What's DCL's private life got to do with SJ or his football? Is it any wonder he's suffered badly with his mental health with bad k***heads like this?”

A last one said: “Simon Jordon dresses his terrible opinions up in fancy words and fast talking. He’s a dinosaur like the rest of them with outdated views & the DCL comment is vile considering how public he made his mental health struggles last year.”

Everton have endured another torrid season so far. They have won just three Premier League games in 16 matches, while a nadir was reached when Bournemouth knocked them out of the League Cup – winning 4-1 at the Vitality Stadium.

Reports are flying that Lampard’s job is at risk – with former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa considered a possible option.
