8 new bombshells from final part of Cristiano Ronaldo’s stunning Piers Morgan interview

So the final part of Cristiano Ronaldo's controversial interview with Piers Morgan has finally dropped and it's fair to say it's ended with a bang.

The Manchester United superstar has thrown his legacy to the wind by talking smack about the club, the manager and even his team-mates (admittedly, without naming any names).

Snippets of the interview were released at the weekend with Ronaldo unloading months of pent-up frustration after playing little more than a bit-part role all season after falling out of favour with Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo caused a major stir last month after refusing to come on as a late substitute against Tottenham, but the 37-year-old claims he isn't the only United star to have pulled the stunt recently, insisting that several of team-mates did the same in pre-season against Rayo Vallecano.

"Me and eight players [refused to come on as a substitute], but they mention only my name," he told Morgan. "Last year, many players did the same … but they only speak about the black sheep which is me."

Ronaldo claimed that every instance happened "last year", but stopped short of naming the guilty players.

Ronaldo said he felt humiliated when explaining to his son, Cristiano Jr, that he'd been suspended from training following the Tottenham incident.

"I remember arriving home and Cristiano see me and said, 'Daddy do not go to the game?' I said, 'No, because the club punish me with three days'. And he did like *laughs* 'How are they going to punish you if you are the best player in the world and you're not gonna play?'

"I said 'No I'm not gonna play because I have not been behaving'. And he looked at me like, 'My daddy not behaving, what?’"

Many feel that this interview is the final nail in the coffin for Ronaldo's future at Old Trafford, though the man himself has suggested he could still see out his contract, despite insisting that he's had his legs "cut" by the club in recent weeks.

When asked if he'll still be a United player come January 1, he said: "It's difficult to tell right now … I don't know what's gonna happen after the World Cup, but as I told you before, and I will say again, the fans will be always in my heart. And I hope they been in my side, even if I'm back, or if I'm not back, or if I stay or whatever.

"When I arrived at Manchester United, I [wanted to] always be available to help the team to do the good things, to put in the right spots, to compete with the best teams. But it's hard when they cut your legs and they don't like you to shine and they don’t listen to your advice.

"I think I have words to advise to the club because the trophies are one individual and collective. I think I can help a lot, but when the infrastructure is not good."

During his summer of discontent, Ronaldo was reportedly offered a whopping £350m deal from a unnamed Saudi Arabian club. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner confirmed that the offer was genuine and that it was difficult to turn down (you don't say!)

"It’s true, yes it’s true," Ronaldo told Morgan. "It was hard [to turn down] but in the same way, I thought that I was very happy here; that I was still capable to score goals.

"I still believe that I can score many, many goals and help the team because I still believe that I'm still good and capable to help national team – even Manchester United."

Reports nobody wanted him were 'garbage'

Ronaldo controversially handed in a transfer request in July to try and force a move to a Champions League side, but no such move happened.

United maintained publicly that they had no intention of letting Ronaldo leave, but many believe it was a lack of interest from top clubs that ensured the wantaway forward stayed put – though Ronaldo insists plenty of teams were sniffing around.

"What the press keeping say, the garbage, is that nobody wants me, which is completely wrong. And I was happy here to be honest, I was motivated to do a great season here. But they continue to repeat that nobody wants Cristiano. How they don’t want a player who scored 32 goals last year?"

Qatar hosting World Cup is 'good'

Ronaldo waded into the controversy surrounding the World Cup hosts, insisting that he thinks it will be a "good tournament".

"All the national teams, the people to be welcome in Qatar … I see a good tournament to be honest. I think Qatar; they are prepared. They are prepared for that, and will be weird to play in the beginning of the season. Yes. But in the same way, a challenge. I think it's to be honest, it’s good. I feel good. I feel with good energy."

Relationship with Messi

When asked about his relationship with eternal rival Lionel Messi, Ronaldo said he was a "top person" and that he "respects the way he speaks about me" – and even teased potentially teaming with the Argentine superstar in the future.

"Amazing player is magic, top… As a person, we share the stage 16 years, imagine, 16 years. we share. So, I have great relationship with him. I'm not friend of him in terms of, what I mean friend is the guy who was with you in your house, speaking on the phone, no, but it's like a teammate.

"He’s a guy that I really respect the way he always speak about me. So good. What I am going to say about Messi? A great guy who does great things for football."

When asked about the chances of them playing together in the future, Ronaldo joked that they would "sell a lot of shirts".

Despite tipping Manchester City to retain their Premier League crown, Ronaldo admitted that he wanted Mikel Arteta's Arsenal to pip them to the post this season.

"Arsenal is some team that I like to see play," he told Morgan. "I like the team. I like the coach. I think they have a good team. And if Manchester United don’t win the Premier League, I will be happy if Arsenal do."
