The former Love Island star left the show on Monday after being forced to withdraw on medical grounds in a decision the 31-year-old said made her cry.

The reality TV star exited Brisbane airport within hours and jetted into Manchester earlier this week.

Olivia told MailOnline she “was absolutely devastated” at having to leave I’m A Celeb.

“I’m not a crier but I started to cry, it was so emotional, and I was heartbroken and gutted,” she added.

Olivia is due to share the full story surrounding her departure, but recently insisted it wasn’t due to covid.

She was reportedly happy and content on the show but concerns were raised by a member of the crew following a standard test that the celebs do behind the scenes during the series.

After further checks were made away from the jungle it was ITV’s decision to remove Olivia.

At the time a friend said: “Olivia was very keen to continue and was gutted when she was told that having left camp for tests she was not going back. Her I’m A Celebrity journey was only just beginning and she is devastated.”

ITV said at the time: “As a precautionary measure Olivia needed to leave the jungle to undergo some medical checks.

“Unfortunately, the medical team has advised it is not safe for Olivia to return to camp as there needs to be further investigation. She has been absolutely brilliant and she’ll be very much missed on the show.”

Later the same day a post on Olivia’s instagram said: “To say Olivia is heartbroken would be an understatement. She dreamed of doing ‘I’m A Celebrity’ for years, and was absolutely loving every second of the show and throwing herself into jungle life feet first (just as we knew she would).

“However for reasons beyond her control her journey has been cut short. Your support and kind words have meant the absolute world to her, now as much as it always has.

“You will hear the truth from Olivia in due course and she will be back on screen in the new year. PS Who is going to roast Matt Hancock now?.”
