New Arrivals for HBO Max November 2022

HBO Max is kicking off the holiday season in November 2022. A large collection of returning films and new originals are in store for subscribers this month. The largest film premiere of them all comes in the form of A Christmas Story Christmas, the legacy sequel to the staple holiday film, A Christmas Story. Actor Peter Billingsley is reprising his role as Ralphie Parker for the first time since the original’s release in 1983, but that’s not all. Billingsley has a story credit on the new film, ensuring that this legacy sequel has enough thought and care behind it to satisfy the enormous fanbase that’s been waiting for a proper continuation for years.

When looking at other selections this month, the Harry Potter and Star Trek franchises are notable standouts. All 8 Harry Potter films are back on HBO Max once again, so enjoy them while they last for now. In the case of Star Trek, 10 classic films are back on the platform as well. If the release of A Christmas Story Christmas has got you in the holiday spirit, you can also now stream other hits like Arthur Christmas and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. If that doesn’t float your boat then you should check out recent indie darlings like Ryan Coogler’s Fruitvale Station, and Nia DaCosta’s Little Woods. Other must-see films that just arrived on HBO Max in November 2022 include Ingrid Goes West, (500) Days of Summer, Raging Bull, and Se7en.

Our Recs:

Titans: Season 4

The young adult-oriented take on DC’s Teen Titans lives on for another season. Those who’ve been following Titans since its debut on the long-gone DC Universe streaming service have been getting treated to a show that has only gotten better and richer in lore. Season 4 now sees the titular team up against a supernatural cult, with DC heavy-hitters Lex Luthor and Deathstroke popping in and out. Above all else, there is a heavily teased Stargirl crossover this season, which was just recently unfortunately canceled after 3 seasons on The CW. This just makes the anticipation for what could possibly lie ahead in Titans Season 4 even higher.

Catch new episodes of Titans Season 4 every Thursday this November on HBO Max!

The Sex Lives of College Girls: Season 2

Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble’s raunchy comedy is back after a successful first go. The Sex Lives of College Girls has all the makings of a cult classic series in the making thanks to the fresh talents of series leads Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Reneé Rapp, and Alyah Chanelle Scott. This latest season sees the ladies return to New England’s prestigious Essex College after their Fall break. The show will continue to explore the hardships and hilarious challenges of modern college campus life for women, including those dealing with identity, both negative and positive relationships. and, of course, sex.

The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 2 premieres on HBO Max November 17, 2022!

A Christmas Story Christmas

Actor Peter Billingsley reprises the iconic role of Ralphie Parker for the first time since 1983 in A Christmas Story Christmas. Thirty years after the events of the first film, Ralphie returns to his former home in Indiana only to find his family and community in fragments of what it once was. He puts it upon himself to bring back the kind of Christmas he got to experience as a kid to the somber town. But, of course, he learns that this is a lot easier said than done.

A Christmas Story Christmas is looking to capitalize on the legacy sequel craze of popular 2022 films like Top Gun: Maverick and Hocus Pocus 2. Suffice it to say, the original A Christmas Story has cemented itself as an American viewing tradition, so could Peter Billingsley’s return and behind-the-scenes involvement be enough to make this new follow-up a success? It’s time to finally find out.

A Christmas Story Christmas hits HBO Max November 17, 2022!
