England stars will reportedly be awarded £13million in bonuses if they win the World Cup in Qatar.

Each player is set to pocket £500,000 from the FA if they make history by being the first Three Lions squad to lift the trophy since 1966.

The FA has more than doubled the size of the bonus pot players would have won if they had been victorious in Russia 2018, according to the Daily Mail. Manager Gareth Southgate would also receive a whopping £3m bonus on top of his £6m-a-year contract if he is successful.

England players would have won £215,000 each if they had beaten Croatia and gone on to win the final four years ago. But the FA have upped the ante following their success at the Euros last year, where they narrowly crashed out on penalties in the final.

Southgate’s men also stand to gain huge commercial bonuses worth several million pounds from their sponsors if they come away with the goods in Qatar.

Other European teams such as Germany and Belgium have reportedly been offered a similar amount to England. But Brazil top the charts of generous bonuses due to their staggering £30m-a-year kit deal with Nike.
