Brandy Slams Jack Harlow For Not Knowing She’s Ray J’s Sister: ‘Will Murk This Dude’

Just as the news of Jack Harlow being lifted over a pile of mud by two black men dies down, he is under scrutiny for another debacle.

This time, Harlow landed in hot waters for not being abreast with hip hop history, particularly a song from Brandy and her relationship with Ray J.

The “Full Moon” singer caught wind of the drama and took to her social media to poke fun at the situation and jab at the young musician.

Brandy Humorously Blasts Jack Harlow For Not Recognizing Her Song

On Saturday, May 17, Brandy broke her silence surrounding all the drama that stemmed from Harlow failing to recognize her voice and the fact that he is Ray J’s sister.

The “Never Say Never” singer tweeted, “I will murk this dude in rap at 43 on his own beats and then sing is ass to sleep [spade suit emoji].”

Fans should not expect a diss track or feud between the two talented artists, as Brandy only made her statement in good fun.

She later clarified when she wrote, “See, I can have a little fun too. hehe…all love” in a tweet infused with red heart emojis, showing she took no offense to Harlow’s statement.

The drama began on Wednesday, May 11, when the “Nail Tech” rapper appeared on “Hot 97” with Ebro Darden, Laura Stylez, and Peter Rosenberg.

The hosts decided to test Harlow’s musical knowledge by playing songs and asking him to name the title. Rosenberg said:

“If people don’t know this, big surprise, Jack Harlow is Caucasian. He’s from Louisville, and I truly — because he’s such a hip-hop head, and he’s 24, but he’s white, I have no idea, sort of, what your cultural reference points are, so I just think this is a fascinating experiment to learn about young Jack Harlow.”

The “First Class” rapper was able to spot some songs from White Stripes, Metallica, and Fergie but struggled with several R&B and hip-hop songs from the 1990s and early 2000s.

Darden then played Brandy’s “Angel in Disguise” for a confused Harlow. Stylez tried to help by stating that the singer starred in a TV show.

Stylez bought up Kim Kardashian’s sex tape with Ray J saying, “Her brother is the reason why a lot of people are famous, you can argue,” but the guest remained baffled.

Harlow told him he had no idea Ray J had a sibling in the music industry and asked who the mystery lady was.

The hosts revealed Brandy sang the song and chalked the 24-year-old’s confusion to him being young. Darden asked again if the rapper didn’t know, and he said:

“Brandy and Ray J are siblings? Nobody’s ever told me that in my life. Nobody’s ever told me that. Y’all got a good clip off that one. Ray J and Brandy are siblings? I had no idea, bruh.”

Rosenberg noted that the information was random, and he and others know Ray J because he came along after Brandy. He continued saying:

“And by the way, when Brandy came along, this man [Harlow] wasn’t born. Brandy came along in like ’95.”

Harlow also showed he was more aware of songs from Black Artists in his age group. He said, “Now, don’t make me hook up and play every song that’s come out after Lil Uzi Vert. Y’all would be f—ed.”

Fans Criticize “First Class” Rapper For Being Carried By Black Men

Some internet users were displeased by a video shared showing Harlow being lifted over a pile of mud by two black men.

The Blast disclosed that the official Twitter handle of the Kentucky Derby shared a video of the rapper at the event Churchill Downs, Louisville, on Saturday, May 7.

The clip showed the “Nail Tech” rapper dressed in a fashionable white ensemble. His arms rested over two hefty men of color who were likely on his security team.

The men carefully lifted Harlow into a vehicle while the post’s caption read, “Gotta keep the kicks clean for Riders Up.”

Many viewers were far from amused and took to the comments section to criticize the rapper. A baffled Twitter user wrote, “Could’ve just worn bags over the shoes, but nah do this instead [facepalm emoji].”

A fan seemed to believe that Harlow’s decision to be lifted into a vehicle by Black men was in tune with the behavior of past enslavers. The netizen posited, “i know his ancestors are proud as hell right now.”
